August 29, 1916 - April 7, 2009

Cora Mae Personette, 92, of Billingsville, died Tuesday evening, April 7, 2009, at
Brookville Healthcare Center.
She was born to Ervin H. and Rosa Anna Baker Wolfe on August 29, 1916 in
Peppertown. She attended school and later worked at a canning factory in Metamora,
where she grew up. On April 13, 1934, she wed Milton “Bill” Personette. Cora helped
Bill run the family dairy farm, and she retired from Brookville Casket after twenty years
of service. Reading, quilting, and crocheting occupied Cora in her free time. She was a
member of the Metamora Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Nancy Personette of
Billingsville; a grandson: Rick Personette of Brookville; a foster son: Harold “Bud”
Yingst of Liberty; two sisters: Pauline Wiggins of Liberty; Thelma Croucher of Camden,
OH; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; a foster daughter: Delores Walton; four
brothers: Roy Wolfe, Eugene Wolfe, Russell Wolfe, and Robert Wolfe; a sister: Gladys
Montanye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long
Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Kevin Noah of Brookville officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Friends may visit at the
funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be
