                          “A Call to Forty Days of Prayer”
                                         By Dr. Neil E. Frey




Calling God’s people of Transformation Ministries churches to forty days of prayer as we seek to
understand and follow God’s will in applying and living the Core Values, Vision, and Mission from
the discernment process of strategic planning this year.

Why a call to forty days of prayer? Because prayer …
   puts into active behavior our dependence on God and His leading;
   brings our hearts closer to the heart of God;
   causes us humbly to listen for the Spirit’s quiet voice of guidance; and
   moves us to look for where God is at work and motivates us to participate.


CORE VALUES

Biblical Authority
Because we believe Scripture is God’s infallible word, it is the supreme authority for Christ-
followers and the Church.

God-Dependent
Because we believe Scripture teaches that apart from God we can do nothing, we are a people of
prayer, obedience and risk.

Mission of God
Because we believe salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, we are committed through word and
deed to see all lost people come to Christ and grow into his fully devoted followers, and to multiply
missional congregations.

Mission-Empowering Relationships
Because we believe God is a relational being who created humanity in His image, and because the
Scriptures call churches to interdependent relationships to most effectively carry out God’s mission,
we value building relationships both between pastors and between congregations.

Church as a Mosaic
Because we believe all men and women are made in the image and likeness of God, we embrace and
celebrate the multiplicity of generations, ethnic backgrounds, and cultural expressions within the
body of Christ modeling reconciliation to the world.

Generation to Generation
Because we believe each generation needs new life in Christ, we value the development of a new
generation of leaders, and ministries that reach and serve next generations.

Spiritual Leadership
Because we believe Scripture places critical importance on the quality of leadership, we seek and
equip leaders called by God, sanctified and gifted by the Holy Spirit who serve in various capacities
and guide the Church in fulfilling His purpose.


VISION

We envision a God-empowered movement of churches:
    every pastor growing
    every church healthy
    every community transformed
   for Christ.

MISSION

We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by:
    deepening and developing pastors as spiritual leaders
    coaching and networking churches toward greater health and missional vitality
    supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.


DAY 1: GOD-DEPENDENT

Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much
fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (NIV)

CORE VALUE: God-Dependent
Because we believe Scripture teaches that apart from God we can do nothing, we are a people of
prayer, obedience and risk.

We can do nothing by ourselves. Each of us is dependent on God, our Creator and Redeemer. Christ-
followers and the Church must faithfully depend on God for life and guidance in living.

Pray for:
    A growing spiritual life of pastors and people of Transformation Ministries’ churches.
    Obedience to God’s word and to the Spirit’s direction.
    Courage to stand strong and firm in our faith.
    Courage to risk our securities in order to be obedient and faithful.


DAY 2: BIBLICAL AUTHORITY

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy
3:16-17 (NIV)

CORE VALUE: Biblical Authority
Because we believe Scripture is God’s infallible word, it is the supreme authority for Christ-
followers and the Church.

As disciples of Christ, we need to faithfully read, study and apply God’s word to our lives. “Seven
days without feeding on God’s word makes one weak.”

Pray for:
    The desire and passion to daily read God’s Word.
    The Holy Spirit’s guidance in understanding and applying God’s Word.
    Our pastors to courageously preach and teach God’s Word.
    The people of Transformation Ministries’ churches to be a model of following Scripture as
       their rule for faith and practice.


DAY 3: MISSION OF GOD

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to
save the world through Him.” John 3:16-17 (NIV)

CORE VALUE: Mission of God
Because we believe salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, we are committed through word and
deed to see all lost people come to Christ and grow into his fully devoted followers, and to multiply
missional congregations.

Having personally confessed that Jesus is Lord, we are to proclaim by word and deed Jesus as
Savior. The Apostle Paul says that we have been given the ministry of reconciliation; God has
committed to us the message of reconciliation—“that God was reconciling the world to Himself in
Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.” II Corinthians 5:19a (NIV)

Pray for:
    A passion for lost persons to become disciples of Jesus Christ.
    The courage to be a messenger and minister of reconciliation.
    Your congregation to be a missional outpost to lost people in its community.
    Your congregation to be a growth center for fully devoted followers of Christ.

DAY 4: MISSION-EMPOWERING RELATIONSHIPS

Jesus prayed, “I’m praying not only for them but also for those who will believe in me because of them
and their witness about me. The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—just as you,
Father, are in me and I in you, so they might be one heart and mind with us. Then the world might
believe that you, in fact, sent me. The same glory you gave me, I gave them, so they’ll be as unified and
together as we are…” John 17:20-22 (The Message)

CORE VALUE: Mission-Empowering Relationships
Because we believe God is a relational being who created humanity in His image, and because the
Scriptures call churches to interdependent relationships to most effectively carry out God’s mission,
we value building relationships both between pastors and between congregations.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) to have mutually beneficial relationships with other pastors.
    Your congregation to have mission-empowering relationships with other Transformation
       Ministries congregations.
    For Transformation Ministries’ churches to build mission-empowering relationships with
       one another and with other churches to transform communities for Christ.


DAY 5: CHURCH AS A MOSAIC

“After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every
nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were
wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud
voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb’.” Revelation 7:9-10
(NIV)

CORE VALUE: Church as a Mosaic
Because we believe all men and women are made in the image and likeness of God, we embrace and
celebrate the multiplicity of generations, ethnic backgrounds, and cultural expressions within the
body of Christ modeling reconciliation to the world.

In Christ Jesus the walls and barriers of differences—nationalities, race, language, social status and
economic level—have been removed. If one belongs to Christ, then he or she is a member of the one
body of Christ. The Apostle Paul instructs us to “Bear with each other and forgive whatever
grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these
virtues put on love…“ Colossians 3:13-14a (NIV)

Pray for:
    To relate to others with the same love that Christ uses to relate to you.
    For your congregation to model reconciliation in the body of Christ.
    For Transformation Ministries’ churches to be strengthened as a God-empowered
       movement while we embrace and celebrate our ethnic and cultural mosaic.

DAY 6: GENERATION TO GENERATION

Paul writes to Timothy: “You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things
you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be
qualified to teach others.” II Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV)
CORE VALUE: Generation to Generation
Because we believe each generation needs new life in Christ, we value the development of a new
generation of leaders and ministries that reach and serve next generations.

Statistics in America indicate there is a tremendous drop-off of belief in young people. We need to
be intentional in praying and caring for the next generations in order to reach and serve them with
the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for:
    Your congregation to be a center of reaching and serving next generations with the Gospel.
    Your congregation to be calling forth the next generation of leaders for the Kingdom.
    The young people in your community that are captive to false cultural securities.


DAY 7: SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP

“Appreciate your pastoral leaders who gave you the Word of God. Take a good look at the way they
live, and let their faithfulness instruct you, as well as their truthfulness. There should be a consistency
that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally
himself.” Hebrews 13:7-8 (The Message)

CORE VALUE: Spiritual Leadership
Because we believe Scripture places critical importance on the quality of leadership, we seek and
equip leaders called by God, sanctified and gifted by the Holy Spirit who serve in various capacities
and guide the Church in fulfilling His purpose.

Scripture records that throughout the Old and New Testaments, God called specific persons to lead
His people: Abraham to father a new people; Moses to lead the exodus from slavery in Egypt; Jesus
to call the twelve to be apostles; and Paul to be a missionary to the Gentiles. God still calls persons
to be spiritual leaders within the faith communities of His people.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) as they seek to be servant-leaders of your congregation.
    Other appointed or elected leaders of your congregation.
    The pastors and leaders of Transformation Ministries’ churches.


DAY 8: EVERY PASTOR GROWING

“…set an example for the believers in speech, in love, in faith and in purity…devote yourself to the
public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching…. Be diligent in these matters: give yourself
wholly to them, so everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in
them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” I Timothy 4:12-16 (NIV)

VISION: We envision a God-empowered movement of churches: every pastor growing, every
church healthy, every community transformed for Christ.

The work of a pastor—preparing God’s people for works of service, building up the body of Christ,
reaching for unity in the faith, and encouraging growth in knowledge towards maturity—is a
challenge that requires diligence and perseverance. A pastor needs to be continually growing in
their walk with Christ and in their skills of servant ministry.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) inner spiritual life in their daily walk with Christ.
    Your pastor(s) as they preach and teach God’s word to the congregation.
    Your pastor’s family.
    Your pastor’s interactions with your community leaders.


DAY 9: EVERY CHURCH HEALTHY

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy
because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he
who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus…. And this is
my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you
may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with
the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians
1:3-6, 9-11 (NIV)

VISION: We envision a God-empowered movement of churches: every pastor growing, every
church healthy, every community transformed for Christ.

A healthy body and personal vitality enables a person to do more and be more effective in their
work in the world. This principle holds true for congregations. A congregation that is spiritually
healthy and has missional vitality will accomplish more and be more effective in transforming their
community for Christ.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) and leaders as they encourage and nurture your congregation towards
       greater health and missional vitality.
    Your congregation’s spiritual growth and development in faith, love, unity and peace.
    A congregational passion for the lost persons in your community.


DAY 10: EVERY COMMUNITY TRANSFORMED FOR CHRIST

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is
lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the
God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9 (NIV)

VISION: We envision a God-empowered movement of churches: every pastor growing, every church
healthy, every community transformed for Christ.

Community transformation is a life-changing process that becomes increasingly visible as the
number and collective influence of Christians living an authentic biblical lifestyle in a community
grows and becomes so pervasive that darkness is progressively displaced by light.

Pray for:
    Ability to see the hurts, needs and challenges in your community that could be blessed with
       a touch of God’s loving grace and mercy.
    Your congregation to be salt and light within your community. (Matthew 5:13-16)


DAY 11: A MOVEMENT OF MISSION-EMPOWERING RELATIONSHIPS

“In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers…. While they were worshipping the Lord
and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have
called them.’ So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
Acts 13:1-3 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening
and developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

These early church leaders, Barnabas and Saul, having just returned from the church in Jerusalem,
were in a network of relationships looking to God for guidance and sensitive to the leading of the
Holy Spirit. In the midst of worshipping together, the Holy Spirit speaks to them and they
commission Barnabas and Saul by the laying on of hands and sent them off. That is an example of
mission-empowering!

Pray for:
    The pastors and people of Transformation Ministries’ churches to encourage one another in
       mission empowerment to transform their communities for Christ.
    The building of mission-empowering relationships between pastors and between congregations.


DAY 12: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“It is a true saying that if a man wants to be a pastor he has a good ambition. For a pastor must be a
good man whose life cannot be spoken against…. Also, he must be well spoken of by people outside the
church – who are not Christians....” I Timothy 3:1-2a and 7 (Living Bible)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Scripture tells us that pastors need to live out their faith in and through right relationships – with
their family, neighbors, congregation members, other Christians, and the community, including
those who are not Christians.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) and their families to be guarded and protected by the Holy Spirit.
    Your pastor(s) in relating to community leaders and people.


DAY 13: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“…train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all
things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” I Timothy 4:7b-8 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

“Deepening” refers to growing deeper roots in one’s relationship with Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us
that we should spend time and energy in keeping spiritually fit.

Pray for:
    Your pastor's inner spiritual life with Jesus Christ.
    Deepening your own spiritual life with Jesus Christ.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be a training center of godliness – new life in
       Christ.


DAY 14: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and
gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when
you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” I Timothy 6:11-12 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

"Deepening" refers to strengthening one's daily walk with the Lord. Paul urges Timothy to keep his
faith and practice as fresh and as vibrant as when he first made his confession of belief in Jesus
Christ and took hold of eternal life.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
    Your congregation to be a beacon of faith and love to your community.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be a vibrant witness of God's transforming love.


DAY 15: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders
laid their hands on you.” I Timothy 4:14 (NIV)

“And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed – keep that ablaze!
God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.” II Timothy 1:6-7 (The
Message)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

The Holy Spirit gives gifts for ministry to Christ-followers. Pastors are to be bold and loving in using
God’s gifts for ministry. Let us encourage our pastors to use their God-given spiritual gifts for
ministry in the church and in the world!

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) to use their spiritual gift(s) boldly for the benefit of Christ's body.
    Learning and using your own spiritual gift(s) in ministry in your congregation.
    Your congregation being and bringing a spiritual blessing to your community.


DAY 16: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“…stay close to anything that makes you want to do right. Have faith and love, and enjoy the
companionship of those who love the Lord and have pure hearts.” II Timothy 2:22b (Living Bible)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

"Developing” refers to strengthening one's relational skills. Pastors are encouraged to enjoy the
companionship of those who love the Lord – this is part of the purpose of the Pastor Mentor
Groups. Fellowship with other pastors helps a pastor to deepen and develop as a spiritual leader.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) to have mutually supportive relationships with fellow pastors.
    Each of the pastors in the Pastor Mentor Groups.
    The unity of Transformation Ministries’ churches that comes from mutual love and
       fellowship with one another.


DAY 17: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you – guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives
in us…. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable
men who will also be qualified to teach others.” II Timothy 1:13-14 and 2:2 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

"Developing" refers to increasing one's skills in teaching and mentoring. Paul says to both guard the
pattern of sound teaching and to pass that teaching on to reliable persons who, in turn, will teach
others. Note the four-fold transmission of the gospel: Paul to Timothy to reliable persons to others.
Are we doing our part in being the modern chain of transmitting the gospel?

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) as they teach and mentor individuals in Christ discipleship.
    Your congregation to be a teaching center that faithfully entrusts the gospel to others.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to become a place for transmitting the gospel and
       faith to the next generations in their community.


DAY 18: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be
ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth…. Preach the Word; be prepared in season and
out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction…keep your
head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your
ministry.” II Timothy 2:15, 4:2 and 5 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

"Developing" refers to increasing one's pastoral skills. Study, preach, evangelize—doing all the
duties of a pastor’s ministry—a challenging charge to any and all pastors!

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) as they study and prepare to preach and teach God's Word.
    Your congregation to be faithful disciples of God's Word.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be a missional outpost of evangelism.


DAY 19: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“Pastors who do their work well should be paid well and should be highly appreciated, especially those
who work hard at both preaching and teaching.” I Timothy 5:17 (Living Bible)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Pastors as spiritual leaders preach and teach the good news of the gospel. As members of a
congregation, we should appreciate and compensate our pastors well for their hard work of
preaching and teaching us.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) to preach and teach boldly the gospel of Jesus Christ.
    Your pastor(s) as they teach your congregation to "preach the gospel" through their daily
       living.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be a place where many may come to know Jesus
       Christ as Savior and Lord.


DAY 20: DEEPENING AND DEVELOPING PASTORS AS SPIRITUAL LEADERS

“…set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote
yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.” I Timothy 4:12b-13 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Pastors as spiritual leaders set an example for Christ-followers of how to live out one’s faith every
day. This is an awesome responsibility.

Pray for:
    Your pastor(s) as a spiritual leader who models how one follows Jesus Christ today.
    Your congregation to become Christ-followers who transform their community.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be a spiritual blessing to its community.


DAY 21: GOD’S EMPOWERING PRESENCE

“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Romans 8:16 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

In Becoming a Healthy Church, Stephen Macchia identifies the first characteristic of a healthy church
as God’s Empowering Presence. “The healthy church actively seeks the Holy Spirit’s direction and
empowerment for its daily life and ministry…. If we are to fully understand and experience God’s
empowering presence in our lives, we need to release our independent spirits into his loving care.”
(pp. 27-29)

Pray for:
    Your congregation to value, seek and expect God’s empowering presence.
    The Holy Spirit's help in cultivating the fruit of the Spirit in the life of every believer in your
       congregation.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be a place where God's empowering presence is
       felt in a mighty and transforming way.

DAY 22: GOD EXALTING WORSHIP

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and
truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must
worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

In Becoming a Healthy Church, Stephen Macchia identifies the second characteristic of a healthy
church as God Exalting Worship. “The healthy church gathers regularly as the local expression of
the body of Christ to worship God in ways that engage the heart, mind, soul, and strength of the
people…. To be engaged in worship involves varying styles and forms, but is focused on actively
drawing in and involving God’s people.” (pp. 21 and 44)

Pray for:
    Openness to the work of the Spirit in your worshipping community.
    God Exalting Worship in each church that draws people to come to know Jesus Christ.


DAY 23: SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, then peace-loving, considerate, submissive,
full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and

In Becoming a Healthy Church, Stephen Macchia identifies the fifth characteristic of a healthy church
as A Commitment to Loving and Caring Relationships. “The healthy church is intentional in its
efforts to build loving, caring relationships within families, between members, and within the
community they serve.” (p. 95)

Pray for:
    Your congregation to be a place of loving, caring relationships in every way.
    Persons from your community to be touched by loving, caring relationships within your
       congregation and through that touch come to know Jesus, the Master Healer.
    Loving, caring relationships to be built both between pastors and between congregations of
       Transformation Ministries.


DAY 26: SERVANT-LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

“From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds

    Your pastor(s) as spiritual leaders of your congregation.
    Responsiveness of the next generations to the call of the Holy Spirit to be leaders.

DAY 27: AN OUTWARD FOCUS

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” Luke 19:10 (NIV)

In Becoming a Healthy Church, Stephen Macchia identifies the seventh characteristic of a healthy
church as Outward Focus. “The healthy church places a high priority on communicating the truth of
Jesus and demonstrating His love to those outside the faith.” (p. 135) “We have God-ordained
responsibilities in the areas of evangelism, social concern, and worldwide missions.” (p. 145)

Pray for:
    Being able to see your community and its people from God's perspective of love.
    Your congregation to have ministries that reach out to your community with God's love.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to develop ministries of transforming love in and
       for their communities.


DAY 28: WISE ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY

“So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?”

church as Wise Administration and Accountability. “The healthy church utilizes appropriate
facilities, equipment, and systems to provide maximum support for the growth and development of
its ministries.” (p. 157)

DAY 29: NETWORKING WITH THE BODY OF CHRIST

“May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them
even as you have loved me.” John 17:23 (NIV)

health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

In Becoming a Healthy Church, Stephen Macchia identifies the ninth characteristic of a healthy
church as Networking with the Body of Christ. “The healthy church reaches out to others in the
body of Christ for collaboration, resource sharing, learning opportunities, and united celebrations
of worship…. Christians all over the world are seeing the need for effective networking in order for
the church to accomplish the mission set before us.” (p. 179)

Pray for:
    Your congregation to experience and appreciate the richness in the Body of Christ.
    Your congregation both to be blessed by and be a blessing to other congregations.
    Transformation Ministries to be strengthened and enriched by interaction, cooperative
       spirit, and collaborative endeavors of loving and grace-giving leaders and congregations.


DAY 30: STEWARDSHIP AND GENEROSITY

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will
also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or
under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” II Corinthians 9:6-7 (NIV)

In Becoming a Healthy Church, Stephen Macchia identifies the tenth characteristic of a healthy
church as Stewardship and Generosity. “The healthy church teaches its members that they are
stewards of their God-given resources and challenges them to sacrificial generosity by sharing with
others.” (p. 197)

DAY 31: A MOVEMENT OF MISSION-EMPOWERING RELATIONSHIPS

“Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us and brought us to the home of Mnason, where
we were to stay…. When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers received us warmly. The next day Paul
and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present. Paul greeted them and reported in
detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. When they heard this, they praised
God." Acts 21:16-20a (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening
and developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater
health and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

The book of Acts records the spread of the gospel by many individuals preaching and teaching
through a variety of means in numerous places to diverse groups. This early church movement was
comprised of people whose relationships were solely based on their common faith in Jesus Christ.

Pray for:
    A greater awareness and appreciation of the relationships we have with one another as
       fellow adoptees in the family of God.
    Guidance and assistance from the Holy Spirit for the pastors and people of Transformation
       Ministries’ churches to work collaboratively for the Kingdom.
    Funding for planting new churches within Transformation Ministries.


DAY 32: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew
28:18-20a (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples of all nations and to teach them obedience to His
commands. Unless the church focuses on the task of making disciples and planting churches, we
will not fulfill our part of the mission of God.

DAY 33: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you
may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were
not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have
received mercy.” I Peter 2:9-10 (NIV)

Evangelism is a process of helping individuals and communities to be reconciled to God. One of the
most effective tools of evangelism in today's world is church planting.

Pray for:
    A passionate concern for the lost – unbelievers.
    Your congregation to participate in a church planting partnership.
    Pastor and people of Seven, a church plant in San Diego, California.


DAY 34: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say 'No' to
ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present
age." Titus 2:11-12 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

God has anointed His church to serve as the most powerful instrument to gather worshipers from
every tribe, kindred, language and nation of the world. We must look at new and innovative ways of
fulfilling the mission of God in the context of the 21st century.

Pray for:
    Your congregation to seek ways to minister to those within your community who are not
       being reached with the good news of Jesus Christ.
    The Holy Spirit to raise up church planters to serve and reach the next generations.

DAY 35: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of
Christ…. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people
and members of God's household, …" Ephesians 2:13 and 19 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Christ brought foreigners and aliens—the gentiles—into God's family. What largely unreached
generations and people groups are there in your community needing Christ and God's family? God's
mission is that they would be brought near to Him.

Pray for:
    Sensitive ears to hear what the Lord of the Church might be saying to you about a specific
       group that needs Christ.
    The people of Transformation Ministries’ churches will be burdened for reaching those not
       in God’s family.
    God’s direction in leading Transformation Ministries to the emerging leader for its new
       strategic church planting effort.


DAY 36: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as
possible…. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all
this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings.” I Corinthians 9:19 and 22-23 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Paul became flexible and adaptive in order to share the gospel and to win “as many as possible.”
Through this scripture, the Holy Spirit encourages us to do the same today.

Pray for:
    Wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit as Transformation Ministries begins church
       planting in new ways.
    Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s pointing to church planters within your congregation.
    Pastors and people of River Christian Church, a church plant in Eagle, Idaho; and
       CrossCurrent Fellowship, a church plant in Honolulu, Hawaii.


DAY 37: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“Then he (Jesus) said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of
the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'” Matthew 9:37-38 (NIV)

in praying for the sick, ministering to those in need, and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom.

Pray for:
    A sense of compassion, like Jesus had, for the helpless and oppressed.
    The Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field.
    Pastors and people of Community Bible Fellowship, a church plant in North Las Vegas,
       Nevada; and Second Missionary Baptist, a church plant in Pahrump, Nevada.


DAY 38: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the
power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are
sanctified by faith in me." Acts 26:17b-18 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Persons in darkness or with their eyes shut tight can only stumble about without any idea of where
they are or where they are going. Those without faith in Jesus Christ live out this truth daily without
knowing it.

Pray for:
    Christian disciples to share Jesus Christ, “the Light of the world”, with those in darkness
       around them.
    Your congregation’s discernment on ways to reach unbelievers in your community more
       effectively.
    Each Transformation Ministries’ church to be “salt and light” to its community.


DAY 39: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of
whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can
they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good
news!’” Romans 10:14-15 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

Scripture indicates that believers are to send preachers and pastors to places where people have
not heard the gospel. Planting new churches to reach culture subgroups, ethnic populations, and
next generations is one means to being faithful.

Pray for:
    Christian disciples to take the gospel to unreached people groups.
    Your congregation to seek a partnership with other congregations to help provide "a
       shepherd for the sheep" in a new church plant.
    Pastors and people of Temple Builders Community Church, a church plant in Laguna
       Hills, California; and Agape Prayer Fellowship, a church plant in Lancaster, California.


DAY 40: VIABLE CHURCH PLANTING PARTNERSHIPS

“Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.'" John 14:6 (NIV)

MISSION: We exist to build a movement of mission-empowering relationships by: deepening and
developing pastors as spiritual leaders, coaching and networking churches toward greater health
and missional vitality, supporting and initiating viable church planting partnerships.

There are many who don't know the way or have lost their way in the world. There are many who
don't know the truth or don't know if there is any truth. There are many people who are just
existing, and don't believe they really have any life.

Pray for:
    Boldness to share with family and friends that Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life”.
    Your congregation to establish a mission priority for partnerships to support planting new
       churches.
    New church plants to reach every ethnic population.
