in Eatonton, Georgia. We will explore the famous Rock Mound, Rock Eagle 4-H Center, Eatonton, GA
slide down the water slide and make lots of new friends. The week JUNE 23-27, 2008
will be center around a Native American theme, consisting of
three tribes: Cherokee, Shawnee, and Muskogee’s. Name:

FAQ’s about 4-H Camp
This is a long way for my kids to go. Who will be watching them?
Two Chattooga County 4-H Staff members, one Volunteers leader and two
certified 4-H teen leaders will be accompanying them to Rock Eagle.
When we get to camp we will join the Camp Staff which will be the 4-H
Camp Counselors, other county 4-H staff, and state 4-H staff. The
Counselors are certified in CPR and Lifeguard. There is also a Registered
Nurse on-site at all times. Rock Eagle has an adult to child ratio of three Chattooga County Cooperative Extension
adults to ten youth. (3:10).

What is the Camp Facilities Like?
Rock Eagle 4-H Center is the largest 4-H camp in the United States. Rock

Eagle is centered on 1,428 acres in Eatonton, Ga.
The camp can house up to 1,000 campers and adults. There are cabins
which we will be staying in. 16 youth will be housed in each cabin with
eight staying in room A and B. The bath is located between the rooms. In
each cabin there is a C room where the adults and will be housed. So
there will be supervision at all times. Girls will be housed with girls and
boys will be housed with boys. The dining hall is located in the center of
the camp along with the auditorium, pavilions, and meeting areas.
