Course Title: Research Seminars.
Course Number: RHS 505.

Course Description: This course introduce the need for
conducting review articles about different problems in the field
of physical therapy. The core of this course will be to teach the
students how to generate problem idea, collect scientific
knowledge about this problem, collect the previous studies
reviewing this problem and ending with how to interpret and
analyze the findings that can also be presented as seminars in
Course Objectives: Upon completion the course, students
should be able to:
1- Analyze research articles and critique the research
design or the methods used.
2- Search about certain knowledge in the area of interest.
3- Develop skills of searching in writing a research paper.
4- Practice presenting their research orally.
Week 1: Revision of research methodology and principles.
Week 2: Research as a process of asking and answering
Week 3: Developing answerable research questions ,choose a
certain topic for research and come up with a question.
Week 4: Literature review.
Week 5: Interpreting and explaining the result of searching.
Week 6: Writing the essential points and drawing conclusions.
The rest of the semester will be devoted to the actualization of
the specific research knowledge in preferred special areas of
interests. This will be through review of literatures and
accomplishment of assigned readings(the preferred areas of
interest will be selected from different topics of physical
therapy specialties e.g, P.T in neurology, pediatric,
cardiovascular,--------), identify research variables, write the
literature review and report the major findings.
Methods of evaluation:
Research problem: 5%
Literature review: 35%
Final paper: 30%
