Stuttgart opens two medical facility additions
STUTTGART, Germany – A July 2 ribbon-cutting ceremony at Stuttgart’s Patch Barracks
celebrated the opening of two valuable patient-care additions to the community – a pharmacy
extension and a Logistics-TRICARE annex.
The projects, managed by the Corps of Engineers Europe District for U.S. Army
Health Clinic, Stuttgart, officially began after a May 1, 2006, ground-breaking ceremony on
“We at the Corps of Engineers appreciate this opportunity to support the U.S. Army
Garrison, Stuttgart, and our partners within the Medical Command in creating the best patient
care environment possible for our Soldiers and family members of our great team,” said Col.
Margaret Burcham, commander of the Corps of Engineers Europe District, at the event.
The Pharmacy Extension provides new doctors’ offices, new exam rooms, a new
entrance for pharmacy traffic, and a much-needed expansion to the customer waiting area,
The Logistics TRICARE Annex is an addition to the old ambulance garage that today
serves as a logistics warehouse. The annex provides new offices for the TRICARE customer
service professionals and has a large office area for the health clinic logistics staff.
“These facilities are special not only because they add a significant quality-of-life
improvement to the garrison, but also because they are the realization of a lot of hard work
and constructive communication,” Burcham said.
