Dear Medical Assisting Program Director,

The Membership Committee of the Virginia Society of Medical Assistants (VSMA), an affiliate
of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) would like to connect with medical
assisting students in your program and introduce them to their professional organization.

As part of this initiative, the Membership Committee invites your students to participate in a
poster contest. The theme of the contest is “My Image of a Medical Assistant”. The submission
should be 8 ½ by 11 as it will be made into a glossy poster for display at the VSMA annual
meeting and on the Society web site. The winning contestant will win a free membership to the
AAMA and free registration to the VSMA annual meeting in April 2012. The deadline for
submission is September 1, 2011 and submissions should be emailed to dsb6k@virginia.edu or
mailed to Deb Benson, P.O. Box 919, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477. The winner will be contacted by
email by October 31, 2011. Entries will be judged by the VSMA Executive Board and will
become the property of the VSMA.

I ask that you encourage your students to participate and look forward to seeing you at the
VSMA seminar in November. Please post the accompanying notice to stimulate interest.

Attention Medical Assisting Students- would you like to win a
