SUBJECT DOMESTIC ASSAULT ARREST
SUSPECT: JAMES EDWARD SNELLBAKER
BIOGRAPHICAL: 36 YEAR OLD COOS BAY RESIDENT

CHARGE(S) ASSAULT IV (DOMESTIC) - $7,500
& BAIL: PAROLE VIOLATION - NO BAIL
At approximately 6:45 pm, on September 29, 2008, Coos Bay Police responded to a 911 call from a female
subject, 20 year old Coos Bay resident Victoria Hill, alleging that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.
Coos Bay Officers responded to their residence at 1925 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay, to investigate the
allegations, and contacted Ms. Hill as she was walking away from the residence. Additional Coos Bay Units
attempted to make contact with Mr. Snellbaker at the residence, only to find he had fled on foot prior to their
arrival. Officers did, however, locate Mr. Snellbaker at a nearby Burger King, on Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay,
taking him into custody, without incident, on charges of ASSAULT IV (DOMESTIC), STRANGULATION, and
Mr. Snellbaker was transported to Coos County Jail, where he is lodged. Bail for the first two charges totaled
$15,000, with no bail offered for the PAROLE VIOLATION charge.
Ms. Hill was transported to Bay Area Hospital by Coos Bay Officers, and treated for undisclosed injuries.
