                                                     Detailed Carbon Intensity Data - Version 5.0
Introduction
This file contains information on the default fuel chains available for reporting under the RTFO together with data and information that can be used to modify these
chains with actual qualitative information or quantitative data.
Please note: this spreadsheet must be used in conjunction with the C&S Guidance (available online), and users must follow the calculation and LCA rules in the
Guidance and the RED. Please check the website to make sure you are using the latest version of this spreadsheet and the guidance.

A number of tools are supplied to assist suppliers wishing to calculate the GHG emission savings of their biofuels:

     ● Carbon Calculator (recommended method) - The Carbon Calculator is a free software tool available online to aid reporting parties determine the GHG
       emissions from consignments of biofuels they have supplied, using either defaults or actual values for all or part of the fuel chain. It is strongly recommended
       that this tool is used if suppliers are using actual data or changing the given defaults within a fuel chain to reduce the potential for errors. The Calculator can
       also be used to produce C&S reports which can be uploaded to ROS as part of the application for RTFCs.

     ● Carbon intensity templates - This spreadsheet provides templates for carbon intensity (greenhouse gas) calculations for each step of the fuel chain. Note
       that it is recommended that suppliers use the Carbon Calculator for their fuel chain calculations but this spreadsheet is provided should suppliers prefer to
       perform the calculations manually.
     ● Detailed carbon intensity data (this spreadsheet)- This spreadsheet contains information on the default fuel chains available for reporting under the RTFO
       together with data and information that can be used to modify these chains with actual qualitative information or quantitative data. Any updates to the carbon
       defaults in Annex V of the RED will be included in this file.

Please note, on this worksheet, the emissions for each module are calculated based on the best available data provided by the Commission and Biograce version 4. They
represent our best attempt at replicating the values published in the RED. However, not all the module totals or chain totals exactly match the published RED default values.
The reasons for these discrepancies vary by chain, and we are working to try and understand them. Those figures shown in red do not match the RED, those shown in black do.

The data on this worksheet can be used if you wish to use actual data for certain modules to calculate a carbon intensity. If you are not providing data for the conversion
module (i.e. processing data), the emissions from conversion will need to be multiplied by 1.4 in order for the emissions to be conservative. If the Carbon Calculator is used,
this multiplier will be added automatically. In some cases (e.g. soybean biodiesel or dry manure biogas), when conversion emissions are multiplied by this factor, minor
discrepancies between our calculations and the values published in the RED will result in rounding error, so the calculated conservative values may differ slightly from those
published in the RED.

To use default values only, please use the carbon intensities provided on the previous worksheet.

     The RTFO Administrator has not been able to replicate
    the RED default value for the waste wood to DME chain.
     Furthermore, it is not possible to say which module is
       creating the problem. Thus for all the modules, no
        default input data is provided in this document.
       Reporting parties wishing to calculate the carbon
      intensity of a waste wood to DME chain will have to
            provide actual data for the whole chain.
