Audience Description: (Demographics)
Approximate population of listening area: 148,000.
Listening audience averages between ages teens and up. Over 35% of area’s
population are women, age 25-55, who are characteristically the prime purchasing
decision makers. (Figures based on 2002 census.) Characteristically, Gospel
music stations in our area have 47 women (ages 25-55) out of 100 Average
Quarter Hour listeners (AQH). (Figures based on Arbitron charts.) Over 16% of
residents in our area are over 65 years. A large percentage of these are listeners.
We also reach community leaders such as pastoral staff, church staff, Sunday
School teachers, youth leaders, music ministers, church boards, etc. in an area
traditionally known as the “Bible Belt”. In summary, we reach the main
purchasers in our area and we have the only commercial station in town.
