    Possible Elementary Tasks

    •   After researching picture books on the contributions of a civil rights leader such as Dr. Martin
        Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, or Ruby Bridges, write and illustrate a poster that defines his/her
        actions and explains the leader’s contribution to the civil rights movement. Support your
        discussion with evidence from your research.

    •   After researching several texts on civil rights, write the text for an oral presentation or a 6 panel
        storyboard for a PowerPoint that defines equality and explain the impact it has on you and your
        community today. Support your discussion with evidence from your research. (L2. What
        conclusions or implications can you draw?)

    •   After researching myths and reading myths from a variety of cultures on creation or another
        common topic, write a feature article or an informational children’s book that defines myths and
