Social Media Contract
The Board of Directors of The Junior League of Odessa, Inc. (JLO) has adopted the following provisions regarding
Social Media Sites. For purpose of this Contract, a Social Media Site shall include any website in which a JLO
member has the ability to post any form of personal information which can be accessed by any third party,
regardless of whether the number or nature of such third parties is restricted in any way. Such Sites shall include,
but not be limited to blogs, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Digg, Twitter and similar websites.
All Provisionals and Actives shall read the provisions and sign in the space provided below acknowledging that she
understands and agrees to comply with the following provisions:
JLO members are prohibited from using the JLO logo on any personal Social Media sites.
No JLO member, other than the President, shall speak for or on behalf of JLO through any Social Media
Any JLO member using the JLO Facebook Group Page must always identify herself by using her full name
instead of a nickname or alias.
No JLO membership or personal information of other members shall be shared on a Social Media site
without that member's consent.
JLO Members may post information about relevant JLO events, links to JLO sponsored events, and photos
from JLO sponsored events only. All posts and comments must be in good taste, informative, and
positive. JLO’s Membership Education and Development Committee shall monitor the JLO Facebook page
and other JLO social media sites and has wide discretion to remove any posts, comments, links, or photos
that are not in good taste, derogatory, or inappropriate. If any JLO member submits a post that is
removed, and then continues to submit similar links, comments, links, or photos that the Administrator
deems not in good taste, derogatory, or inappropriate, then that JLO member shall be blocked from the
JLO Group Page.
No usage of Social Media on behalf of JLO may be created or disseminated by any JLO member without
prior approval of the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors will review all infractions of the Social Media Contract. Depending on the
seriousness or frequency, the Board may assess disciplinary action up to and including removal from JLO.
I have read and I understand the Junior League of Odessa, Inc. Social Media Contract. I agree to abide by the
provisions and understand that I may be removed from the League if I violate any of these provisions.
