This is a brand new and exciting re-interpretation of the Hansel and Gretel fairytale
integrating music, song, physical theatre and ensemble playing. It requires performers who:
• enjoy devising and approaching the creation of new work imaginatively
• have or are prepared to learn physical theatre skills
• are competent singers
• have good movement skills
• have good comedy skills
• have an interest in puppetry
• have worked previously with music, song and vocal techniques
• relish working non-verbally as well as using text
• are interested in making new kinds of theatre
• will be Merseyside based for the duration of the run
This is a music and song-based show and so ability to deliver a song is important (although you do not
need to be vocally trained)

Performers may also have additional and complementary skills but these are not essential. We actively
encourage submissions from individuals that reflect the diversity of the community.

This is a professional development programme for emerging performers. Trainee performers will be
provided with: Professional development services offered by Hope Street. (Prepare the right CV, put them
in touch with local professional photographers, engage them with local based agents, and generally
empower them with information on all the ins & outs of working in the business)
Email a CV to laura@hope-street.org OR post hard copy to: Hope Street Limited, 13a Hope Street,
Liverpool, L1 9BQ (Or drop in – entrance on Arrad Street). Deadline for submissions: Monday 1st October
at 12 NOON. Call Laura Cockett or Peter Ward on 0151 708 8007 for further information. If you wish details
