							Northern New Mexico Emmaus Board Meeting September 15, 2007
   First United Methodist Church

   1. Opening prayer: Led by Rod Douglass
   Board Members in attendance:
   Brad Bennett            Donna Klassen      Darren Guiddo
   Gary Simmons            Carole Bodenhausen Crystal McCoin
   Angie Smith             Conrad Hughes      Rod Douglass
   Shawna Tucker           Ray Bennett

Others in attendance: Ami Erickson, Matt McCoin, Ed Witzke, Karen Otto-Witzke
   2. Approve Minutes: Minutes will be approved when we have a copy. They were
       emailed out prior to the meeting.

   3.   Approval of the agenda

   4. Treasurer’s Report was reviewed by Donna. See Treasurer’s report for more detail

   5. Walk #28

   Pilgrim Application status:14 Registered to go we really need about 6 more to go.
   Application cut off date: September 28th talk to your gatherings and be in prayer for
   more pilgrims
   ASD’s and Team Status: We still need 2 spiritual directors. We have three that are
   willing to come for their talk. Bonnie Hardesty is a possibility. We do have enough if
   we have them come just for the day of their talk. We may need to have 2 of the do 2
   talks. Ocie Trammel is a minister. A question is if Ocie Trammel is a minister should
   she serve as a minister or should she serve on the lay person inside team. Brad will
   consult with David Terry and the Emmaus Upper Room to see if she should be
   recognized as clergy. The board feels that if she hasn’t been officially ordained then
   she should recognized as a lay person.

   Board Committee reviews and training:
       Agape Chair- Ray
      Mentor weekend Agape Chair coordinator-
      Solicit communities for Agape
      Providing a photographer: Conrad is going to take the pictures and Friday night
      Ed will print them
      What is not used it is gathered back up.
      Ray is scheduled for a vacation that week and he will be able to be there to do his
      responsibilities.
      5 women and 3 men on the outside team.
      Shawna will send out the prayer vigil info to get all the communities going on the
      agape and the contact Ray

           Facilities Chair- Gary
   Set up and take down
   Luggage
   Matt and Crystal will go up with Karen and Ed to plan on where to have the
   chapel due to the Apple store not being available.

    Kitchen/ Snack Chair- Crystal
   Crystal will contact Kim about Sat. evening meal after meeting with Karen
   Musicians eating
    Music/Entertainment Chair- Darren
   Darren will have the music for Sat. evening and Closing
    Prayer Chair- Shawna
   Shawna will coordinate the outside prayer vigil via email
   Pray about the on sight prayer vigil
   Off sight and on sight prayer vigil
    Registrar- Donna
   Donna will have the pilgrim roster available and set out the name tags
    Sponsor’s Hour/ Candlelight Chair- Angie
   Carole will take care the crosses and lanyards
   Carole will do sponsors hour
   Communion for the community
   Angie will get clergy set up for candlelight. She is going to ask Pastor Moffit if he
   is interested.
   Brad will have communion taken care of
    Supply/ Literature Chair- Carol
   Read through responsibilities

6. 2008 Walks
Spring-Glorietta, March –Gary
Glorietta will be a good facility that meets all of our needs. It will even hold more that
we need.
Candlelight- There are street lights so we need to plan accordingly.
Susan Brown is having surgery in the Spring and would prefer to do the fall walk.
Angie- will should be able to switch to the Spring women’s walk.
We haven’t gotten the contract yet but the dates are reserved.
March 6-9 Men’s Walks
March 27-30 Women’s Walks
Fall- Location/ Dates- Gary
Sacred Heart is a possibility because Glorietta isn’t as available as they are in the
spring.
Sacred Heart we will need to take on.
Angie moves that we look at Sacred Heart for the Fall Walks
Conrad seconds the motion.
September 25-28 Men’s Walk
October 23-26 Women’s Walks
The motion carries for the location for fall to be at Sacred Heart.
LD update- Rod
Wayne Shirley and Doug Linder have agreed to being Lay directors for the Men’s
walks. They would like to serve on each others teams
Team lists and talk lists will approve via email.

7. Next Meeting: November 10, 2007
Board meeting at 10:00 in Gallup Lunch will be provided
Chrysalis walk Martin Luther King January 15th Weekend Borderlands January 11-
15th at Sacremento email address: patsydd55@msn.com
We are planning on sending a board member that is a part of the sub-council.
