Admission To Management Programme
Admission to the Management Programme is through entrance test (OPENMAT) conducted by the
university, twice every year. The eligibility requirements for MBA/PG Diploma in Management are:
1. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with 50% marks for general category and 45%
marks for reserved category.
Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of supervisory/ managerial/professional experience.
Professional Degree in Engineering /Technology /Medicine /Architecture/Law/Pharmacy.
Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/Cost and Works Accountancy / Company
Secretary ship etc. or
Master’s Degree in any subject.
2. Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU.
Candidates who have successfully qualified entrance test for admission in Management Programme
conducted by the Institutions like CAT / MAT and State level Tests need not appear in OPENMAT.
The cut-off percentage for admission of these candidates will be decided by the university, subject
to minimum of 40%.
3. Non-Graduates (10+2) or equivalent with six years of supervisory / managerial / professional
experience are eligible for taking admission in Diploma in Management (DIM) only (after
clearing entrance test).
4. There is no age bar.
5. Master’s Degree awarded without a first degree is not recognized for purposes of admission to
IGNOU’s academic programmes.
Note: the university reserves the right to grant /deny admission to the candidates.
The Fee for management programme is Rs. 1000 per course. A student can opt upto 4
courses in a semester(6 months).
The minimum and maximum duration of the MBA programme is 2.5years and 8 years
Master of Business Administration (Banking and Finance) MBF
This programme has been especially designed for the members of IIBF to help them acquire
post-graduate qualification and upgrade their managerial skills and capabilities. The
structure of MBF is similar to MBA programme. All those who complete the first eleven
basic courses (PGDIM), any five Specialization courses and five integrative courses are
eligible for the award of MBF. However, there is a separate set of specialization and
integrative courses for MBF.
For admission to MBF, a candidate should satisfy the following conditions:
S/he should be a graduate from a recognizeduniversity.
S/he should have passed the CAIIB examination of IIBF.
S/he should be working with the banking or financial services sector for a period of
atleast two years.
The fee structure and assessment methods for MBF are similar to those of MBA.
