MASS. HIGH POWER CHAMPIONSHIP 2010 - LEG MATCH

OPEN TO: Any competitor 16 years of age or older and a US citizen may enter this match.
Military personnel may enter if they comply with applicable service regulations. MILITARY
COMPETITORS FAILING TO COMPLY WITH REGULATIONS GOVERNING THIS
COMPETITION WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED. Juniors under age 16 who wish to
compete must submit a written request to the stats office for approval listing qualifications and
PLACE: Reading Rifle & Revolver Club Range, Haverhill Street, Reading, MA. From Route I-95
(State 128) north or south, take Exit 40 towards North Reading on Haverhill Street for one mile
north. Turn right at traffic light. Bear right away from ice rink.
FEES: Total $20.00. Make checks to Reading R&R Match Account.
PIT SERVICE: Not Provided. Competitors will pull targets or may bring a puller. Competitors
may hire any available pullers. Competitors with physical problems pulling targets may request
a puller with their advance entry - No Guarantees. If a competitor requests a puller and is than
a no show for the match without a 24 hour notice, the competitor will be charged for that puller
unless a replacement competitor is found.
RULES: Open bolt indicators must be used. For sale at $1 in Stat. Office.
Governed current CMP Competition Rules and Regulations as rewritten from AR 920.
(1) More than one competitor may use the same rifle if the sponsor is notified one week in

capacity with preference given to Non-Distinguished competitors.
(3) Participation on a non-credit basis (practice) is prohibited.

COURSE OF FIRE: National Match Course (no sighting shots)
First Stage: Slow fire, 200 yards, SR target, 10 shots standing; 1 minute per shot. Sling must be
on rifle and in parade position.
Second Stage: Sustained fire, 200 yards, SR target, 10 shots, standing to sitting or kneeling, 60
Third Stage: Sustained fire, 300 yards, SR-3 target, 10 shots, standing to prone, 70 seconds.
Fourth Stage: Slow fire, 600 yards, MR-1 target, 20 shots prone; 1 minute per shot.
RIFLE and AMMO: Rifles covered by NRA High Power Rifle Rules 3.1, 3.1.1 or 3.1.2 may be
used. As listed under rules: M1, M14 and M16 must have at least 4 1/2 pound trigger pull.
Triggers will be weighed
COMPETITORS MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN AMMUNITION. Any safe .30-06, 7.62 and .223
ammunition will be allowed. Fifty rounds of ammo and any additional ammo as required for
refires or malfunctions must be available.
No 55 or 62 grain .223 ammo may be fired at 600 yards.
Slings: M1, M14 and M16 must have standard issue leather or web. No sling hooks.
Ground Cloths: Use of a ground cloth or pad is optional but must not be constructed or used in
a manner that provides artificial support.
AWARDS: "Leg" points will be awarded by the Director of Civilian Marksmanship (DCM).
Appropriate Excellence-in-Competition badges will be awarded to Civilian competitors who
qualify for same as provided by current CMP rules.
ENTRIES: ADVANCE. Limited to 60 competitors. Post entries accepted to fill pre-squadded
relay positions. A "LEG" match entry card must be filled out by all competitors before firing.
SQUADDING: Squadding available Sunday before 7:30 am, or after Match 5 from the previous
day is fired, if necessary. Squadding not picked up 15 minutes before the match starts will be
passed to the waiting list. Any Distinguished shooter who has been squadded at 7:00 am
will not be ‘bumped’ by late entries of non-distinguished shooters.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Clubhouse available for overnight use on Friday and Saturday. Non-
club members must make advance arrangements to ensure club gate access. Bring your own
bedding. Self contained camping vehicles may stay overnight on the club grounds. Many
motels in the area. Check Yellow Pages for Ramada Inn, Days Inn and Howard Johnson. Lord

REFRESHMENTS: Canteen truck will visit the range occasionally, from 7:00 am till closing.
