"RESPECT for Animals"
RESPECT for Animals *Animals are vulnerable *Animals are greatly affected by our actions *We are responsible to show care and compassion for all life, especially the vulnerable and powerless. THE FIVE FREEDOMS FOR ANIMALS: Freedom from thirst and hunger – provide food/water. Freedom from discomfort - by providing an appropriate li ving environment Freedom from pain, injury, and disease - by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment. Freedom to express normal behavior - by providing sufficient space, companions. Freedom from fear and distress - Domestic Pet Overpopulation: Large, growing number of homeless domestic cats and dogs. In the United States alone, between 3 and 4 million cats and dogs are euthanized each year because no one volunteers to adopt them. Animal advocates encourage that animals be spayed or neutered to prevent the births of unwanted and accidental litters.
