•Congruent means to
 have the same size
 and same shape.
• If two figures are congruent they are identical.
           Congruent
• You will be able to lay the
  figures on top of each other and
  they should match perfectly.
• The two triangles are congruent.
• They have the same size and
  shape.
     Real-Life Congruence
You walk into the mall and see dozens of
 copies of your favorite CD on sale. All of
   the CDs are exactly the same size and
shape.The CDs are congruent. In fact, you
can probably think of many objects that are
mass produced to be exactly the same size
                 and shape.
      Congruent Figures
• Two figures are the
  congruent if they have the
  same size and same
  shape.
     Congruent Line Segments
•Two line segments are
 congruent if they
 have the same length.

• They are the same shape but not the same
  size.
