This week in Language Arts: This week in Math:
This week we will read Henry and Mudge and the Starry
Night by Cynthia Rylant. The genre is realistic fiction. In Math
this story, we will read about a boy named Henry and his Chapter 6: Number concepts & patterns through 100.

Spelling Words for next week: “List A” or “List B” will be
determined by your child’s spelling pre-test score which will
be given each Monday. If your child scores less than 95%,
he or she will study and test on List A; if the score is 95%
he or she will study and test on List B (vocabulary words
and selected amazing words to make a total of 10 words).
The B List words are for extra credit points only. Your
child will write the words in his/her agenda. Your child will

Ice Cream will be sold on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Volunteers are needed to sell ice cream in the cafeteria on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:45-12:45. Our
lunchroom monitors are no longer allowed to sell ice cream due to new federal guidelines. Please let me know if you have
any time available (even 30 min ).
Monday, August 27th: Curriculum Night for 2nd grade
5:30-7:00; 3 thirty minute sessions in our classroom (Room311) Each session will be repeated.
I will be doing a power point and a couple fun activities.
