                                 PART 1: JOB PROFILE

1 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

   To market the Zero Waste Scotland re-use and volunteer programmes to partner
   organisations, local authorities and the general public. To undertake promotional
   activities in order to raise public awareness of both services and to maximise the impact
   of the programmes and achieve targets.

3 SCOPE OF JOB:
      To work alongside the Wise Groups communication team to create promotional
       literature and marketing campaigns
      To develop effective links with partners and liaise with other marketing and
       promotions teams to ensure alignment with our programme and the objectives of
       our partners
      Developing effective and lasting relationships with local authorities and re-use
       organisations
      Stimulate, manage and maintain demand for re-use services across Scotland
      To promote the benefits of a national re-use line to key stakeholders
      Create reporting functions that detail the tonnage diverted, carbon reduction and
       financial and social benefits of the re-use progtramme
      To organise events that maximise our impact and target communities that are the
       hardest to reach
      Record and maintain all relevant data
      Produce monthly and quarterly reports

4 DIMENSIONS AND LIMITS OF AUTHORITY:
     None


5 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS LEVEL:
   HND or equivalent
   Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, and ability to engage and motivate
    people
   High level of organisational, report writing and IT skills
   Experience of marketing, promotion and events
   Recycling and/or waste management experience or qualifications


6 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
      As travel is essential, a full driving licence is required.
      Access to a vehicle for business use is preferred
      Must be able to work outwith normal hours as required.




PART 2: DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To market the service to partners and the general public
 Create campaigns in line with the ZWS project objectives & to encourage volunteer
   participation in the programme
 Work alongside ZWS to promote and market the re-use line nationally and ensure
   local authority involvement in this
 Market the programme in such a way that its messages are relevant to the target
   audience
 Organise events in order to gain maximum exposure of the programmes and provide
   support to volunteers
 Organise and deliver presentations at promotional events

Project Development
 Identify and develop opportunities to extend and enhance the programmes
 Continuous review and development of processes and procedures to ensure a
   seamless and professional service is being delivered
 Develop new and maintain existing relationships with re-use organisations across all
   local authorities in Scotland to ensure the service is available nationally
 To meet the agreed targets and milestones

Develop effective links with partners and related organisations and be the key
liaison with these groups
 Maintain effective links with partners and related organisations and act as a liaison
    with these groups
 Represent positively the Sustainability team and the wider organisation at any
    relevant events and meetings
 Present a tidy, professional and helpful image to funders and partners both internal
    and external
 Manage marketing and utilise best practice and cost effectiveness by working with
    other projects & organisations with a similar message


Administrative Duties
 Maintain detailed records of volunteer hours, events and activities of the programme
 Produce regular newsletters for volunteers and key stakeholder organisations
 Produce accurate KPI and progress reports to management, funders and partner
  organisations as required
