                                                                ORGANISATION CONTEXT
Parks and City Services, a Division within the ACT Directorate of Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS), is the single land manager for the ACT Government
responsible for planning, developing and managing Canberra's extensive parks, nature reserves, open spaces and the National Arboretum Canberra. It also develops
and implements policies and programs for environmental sustainability, natural resource management, the ACT's biosecurity, animal welfare services and Canberra's
many public libraries.
National Arboretum Canberra: The National Arboretum Canberra comprises a collection of over 35,000 trees in 100 forests featuring different types of threatened and
symbolic trees from around Australia and the world, as well as the Australian National Bonsai and Penjing collection. These collections are cultivated for conservation,
scientific and educational study, display and preservation. Featuring a state of the art visitor’s centre, cafe/restaurant, function centre and children’s playspace, it is
destined to become one of the key attractions of Canberra offering a variety of memorable visitor experiences. The Arboretum is supported by an enthusiastic and active
“Friends of the Arboretum” group and Strategic Advisory Board.

                                                                 PRIMARY OBJECTIVE (S):
    1. Promote the Arboretum to visitors, media, sponsors and other stakeholders.
    2. Develop and deliver the Arboretum’s marketing, promotional and publicity activities.

                                                                             MAJOR DUTIES
      1.   Developing and implementing strategic and effective marketing campaigns for exhibitions, public programs and other Arboretum activities. This includes media
           planning, creative campaign development, production of marketing materials, and stakeholder liaison.
      2.   Assisting with implementation of the Arboretum's brand and ensuring that the Arboretum's brand is reflected in all marketing activities.
      3.   Ensuring the Arboretum plays an active role in the local and national tourism industry.
      4.   Liaising effectively with other business units of the Territory and Municipal Services Directorate, and stakeholders in the tourism and cultural sectors to ensure the
           best outcomes from marketing strategies.
      5.   Assisting with audience research, visitor number analysis and evaluation to inform the Arboretum's continuous improvement.

                                      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (SELECTION CRITERIA)
1. Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of integrated marketing programs including:
    marketing strategies
    brand management
    creative campaign development
    print production
    media buying
    direct marketing
    social media

2. Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to conceptualise, analyse and report on marketing results and audience research.

3. Highly developed verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively represent the organisation in a range of formal
   and informal contexts.

4. Effective organisational skills with the ability to track budgets, prioritise projects and work to a high degree of accuracy, under pressure, and with limited supervision.

5. The ability to supervise junior staff and provide leadership within the Marketing Team.

6. Demonstrated commitement to the implementation of principles of workplace diversity, participative work practices, workplace health and safety and staff learning and

Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or a related field would be an advantage.

    Other Requirements:
    1. Current Driver's licence;
    2. Willingness to work rostered weekends
    3. First Aid Certificate desirable
