OFTC Nominated PolyPipe as Manufacturer of the Year SANDERSVILLE- PolyPipe was nominated for Manufacturer of the Year by the Sandersville Technical College during the state’s Manufacturing Appreciation Week (MAW) last April. Dr. Lloyd Horadan, President of Oconee Fall Line Technical College, recently presented Joe Peck, Plant Manager of PolyPipe, with their plaque signed by Ron Jackson, Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia and Nathan Deal, Governor of Georgia, recognizing PolyPipe for this honor. PolyPipe was nominated because they demonstrate corporate responsibility through workforce development initiatives and community involvement, have an extensive impact on economic growth in the area and demonstrates a commitment to workforce excellence. “I complimented the management and employees at PolyPipe for their focus on continuous improvement and recognition of the importance of providing employees with the tools that are necessary to be successful and productive in today’s competitive workforce and economy,” commented Leigh Evans, OFTC’s Vice President of Economic Development. PolyPipe employs around 40 people in Sandersville and has supplied products to companies around the world since 1995. PolyPipe is one of the largest polyethylene pipe producers in North America. The company manufactures pipe that is the best option of highly corrosive, abrasive or chemical applications where resistance is the chief concern. Even with the economic downturn, PolyPipe continues to train and enhance the production and quality of its existing workforce.
