& present Handel’s Messiah Parts II &III As part of its continuing partnership with the UALR Community Chorus, Second Presbyterian Church of Little Rock presents the second and third parts of Handel’s Messiah on Thursday, April 5, at 7 p.m. Conducted by Dr. Bevan Keating, the 120-voice combined choir will sing selections from Handel’s masterwork portraying the journey from Christ’s passion and death to the glory of His resurrection. The program features ten local student and professional soloists, as well as professional orchestral accompaniment. There is no charge to attend this concert. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early for best general admission seating. This concert is one of a series of events in Second Presbyterian Church’s celebration of Holy Week, which begins Sunday, April 1, with the Palm Sunday services at 8:30, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m. The presentation of Messiah marks the church’s observation of Maundy Thursday. On Good Friday, a Tenebrae service will be offered at 7 p.m. The week of prayer and reflection culminates in the Easter Sunday celebrations of the resurrection at 8:30, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m. Second Presbyterian Church is located at 600 Pleasant Valley Drive in west Little Rock.
