Learning and development

Postgraduate qualifications in Organisational Learning and Development

As a modern Learning and Development (L&D) professional you are now expected to be a strategic
facilitator of change, a consultancy adviser on organisational development and learning issues, and a
credible partner to the business. This is why we have introduced our new post graduate Masters level
qualification in Learning and Development in partnership with Kingston University. This exciting, new
qualification is designed specifically for L&D managers and experienced L&D professionals. The
programme consists of a registration/induction day, four short residential modules and a mix of
assessed work.

The package price for the Post Graduate Certificate is £4,750. If you attend a module as an individual
open programme and then decide to start the qualification, this will be taken into account in offering you
a reduced fee.

Government Skills

??Which MBA??

Does your organisation sponsor staff undertaking MBAs and similar qualifications? How can you
determine which is the most relevant or offers the best value from the hundreds available?

Government Skills is working with a coalition of 15 departments and devolved administrations to
develop a procurement framework for MBAs and Masters in Public Administration qualifications. The
framework will be available to all departments and devolved administrations from April 2010 and will
offer a choice of programmes and providers. We encourage you to use the framework and to include it
in any sponsorship policies or guidance you have.

If the framework is successful it could be extended to other qualifications.

For more information on this project, please contact: tanya.lawes@government-skills.gsi.gov.uk.
