WORKING DRAFT revised: April 18, 2002
                                                                    Michael C. Long

The following list of plants represents results of floral investigations of the Santa Fe Dam basin,
Irwindale, Los Angeles County, over a number of years. The area covered includes the Santa Fe
Dam Regional County Park and the alluvial scrub habitat along the east side of the San Gabriel
River, north of the 210 Freeway and Foothill Blvd. to the vicinity of Fish Canyon. Species
listed are those native and naturalized and found on-site by Los Angeles County Natural Area
staff from 1974 through present and those reported by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (1984,
1987) and Michael Brandman Associates (1988); references listed at the end. Excluded are
landscape plantings especially around the developed park area at the south end of the basin.
Staff from the County Natural Areas are currently collecting voucher specimens to support this
list. Vouchered species are boldfaced.

Nomenclature follows The Jepson Manual (Hickman, 1993), and plants are arranged by family,
genus and species alphabetically. Asterisks (*) precede non-native species; a plus sign (+)
follows species recorded only in MBA, 1988.
