The goal of our summer internship program is to expose extraordinary candidates to the projects and

Shaw group. Interns interact with various trading groups and gain valuable work experience while
demonstrating their skills on a variety of real-world projects. For quantitative analyst interns, these
projects might include applying sophisticated numerical techniques and writing software to develop and
analyze statistical models for our computerized financial trading strategies, or researching financial
literature to identify new trading ideas and creating simulations to test them. Software development
intern’s work closely with full-time employees to build tools for the analysis of financial instruments as

City of Madison Parks Division
City of Madison Parks Fall Semester Internship

The Parks Division manages 260 parks and over 6000 acres of land and includes various departments
including: recreation services, maintenance, four golf courses, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Warner Park
Community Recreation Center, Goodman Pool, facilities, conservation, forestry, cemetery, planning, and
administrative staff. The Parks Division is currently recruiting interns in the following departments:
Special Events Intern; Volunteer Management Intern: Marketing/Graphic Design Intern; and
Communications Intern. This internship can run 6-12 weeks during the fall semester. Intern hours can
range from 10-35 hours per week, but the internship may not exceed a total of 240 total hours for the
whole internship. Interns will be compensated at a rate of $500/per 80 hours work or per credit earned.
The duration of the internship can be determined with the intern. Hours are flexible, but most will occur
between 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, although some weekend and evening hours will be required.
