Job Position Director of Finance and Administration
GOSL Department National Minerals Agency: established to facilitate the development of the
minerals sector by; strengthening the administration and management of minerals
rights, improving the geological knowledge of the country, managing the trade in
precious minerals and administration of the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme.
Location Freetown with occasional international travel
Reports to The Director General

Nature and Scope of Be an effective member of the Senior Management Team of the NMA and manage

Note that key performance indicators (KPIs) will be created for this position and performance

Manage, co-ordinate, direct and plan the operations of the Directorate in order that they
achieve the objectives defined in the Agency’s Strategic Plan. This includes the preparation
and assessment of strategic objectives and performance criteria for the Directorate as well
as for staff under direct supervision.
Ensure the Agency’s values and principles are upheld by staff under supervision and that
they are aware of and motivated towards the Agency’s vision and strategic objectives.
Establish the NMA budget committee and liaise with the NMA Directors, MoFED, MMMR
and the NMA Board to formulate the annual NMA strategic plan and annual budget.
Ensure efficient management of all NMA financial resources, ensuring full compliance with
the Government Budget Accountability Act (GBAA) and regulations, the NMA financial
manual and financial instructions or directions given by the Minister of Finance, Financial
Secretary or Accountant General as appropriate.
