Title of engagement activity: Dodworth Area Steering Group 15th February2012
Brief description of activity: Regular meetings held in the community to discuss service priorities, BH performance in Estate
Management issues, discussing local issues/ concerns and to agree how to spend local devolved budget

Purpose/Expected outcomes: To agree local action plans to address local concerns in partnership with other service providers. Report
back on outcomes from Estate Walkabouts, matters raised at previous meetings and work ordered from devolved budget

                                       Eric Steer informed the group
                                        about a new officer’s role. The
                                        role involves providing support
                                        for victims of anti-social
                                        behaviour. Anyone wishing to
                                        refer a case can do though the
                                        Housing Management Team.

                                   ERU Report

                                      Local Member Carr raised an issue
                                      with regards to dogs being off leads
                                      in public areas. Dog owners should
                                      keep their pets under control.

                                         Garage Sites : Nothing to report

                                         Fly Tipping : None

                                         Abandoned Vehicles : None

                                         Graffiti : Nothing to report

                                         Dog Fouling: Issue in bottom
                                          recreation ground at on Pilley
                                          Hill.

                                         Local Member raised an issue
                                          of an untidy garden on Fairway
                                          – HMO already dealing with this
                                          case.
                                         Local Member raised an issue
                                          with regards to furnished
                                          tenancies .Suzy (HMO)
                                          informed group on how a
                                          furnished tenancy works. A
                                          discussion then followed with
                                          regards to what happens to
                                          unwanted furniture and the
                                          agencies such as Barnsley
                                          Heart Foundation, The Hospice
                                          and the pro’s and con’s of
                                          furniture schemes and
                                          Berneslai Homes role

                                         Steve Jones raised an issue
                                          with regards to the pavement at
                                          Linton Close where a resident
                                          has fallen recently – HMO to
                                          refer to Highways.

                                         Suzanne/ Joanne (HMOs)
                                          informed the group about an
                                          incident of cold calling on
                                          Arncliffe Drive. If anyone has
                                          any concerns with regards to
                                          cold calling should contact
                                          Trading Standards.
