Chances are that you have heard the word chakra but you may be unclear as to what it is. This is
actually the axis point in a person's body that can communicate life force energy. The word chakra
is actually a Sanskrit word. The definition of this word is that of a constant spinning wheel.

Traditionally Hindu scripts believe that there are 88,000 chakra points in the human body. But out
of these, seven chakras form the vital points for the flow of chi along the spinal column to the
crown of the head.


The first one at the base of the spinal column is the root chakra, moving upwards we have the sex
or navel chakra, the stomach or solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the brow
or third eye chakra and the crown chakra constituting the seven major chakras of the body. These
major chakras focus on receiving and transmitting energy to and fro the cosmos or the universe
influencing the spiritual, mystical, emotional, intellectual, corporeal and psychological activities of
an individual.


There are many people or organizations that have their own explanation but there is still one that
keeps them all tied together. No one knows if it comes from the view point of Chinese medicine or
how the study of psychology looks at it. Each person sees the balance of chakra in their own way
where the unconscious and conscious process of thought takes place. It is said that the Hindus
explanation is also another form of explaining the chakra.


It is said that since the chakras never stop moving, no matter whether a person is sleeping or if
they are up moving around, they can greatly help our body as they stay in constant motion. They
can help such things as physical disorders, glandular processes as well as the appearance and
structure of our body. They can even influence the way we act and how we think. It is easy to see
if one of the chakras are not working correctly, then we can have problems with the way our body
is balanced and how it functions. The chakras can malfunction for many reasons but if one or
more are not working right, we can have issues with the rest of our body.


All this is due to the fact that the seven major chakras correspond to the endocrine system of our
body. With the imbalances in the major functioning of the body system, the functioning of the
chakras disrupts from the normal behaviour or activity.
You can safely say any major ailments or illnesses that your body may be suffering with can be
related to an unbalanced chakra. It is important to maintain the proper chakra balance in order to
keep your body functioning properly. Even though you may not see any physical attributes of an
illness or an imbalance, you may see a difference in your emotions.


Many people feel depressed because of horrible emotional experiences that they were put through
throughout their life. You must realize that this is one of the major causes of having an imbalance
in one of the seven major chakras. Many people often try to forgot bad events that have happened
to them, but it is extremely important that you come to terms with these events.


This is something that many people do without being aware of it as these issues can be stored in
their subconscious mind. If they leave these issues alone to fester they can get a build up of
emotional toxins which can be harmful.


Healing the Body Chakras Activities such as Reiki, color therapy, aromatherapy provides balance
by using the healing properties of crystals, gemstones and pendulums.


There are many people that like to do yoga classes which help with their breathing as well as their
physical exercises. Yoga is good for maintaining the balance of the chakra in the body as this
helps a person to focus.


If yoga is not your things then you can try such things as meditation or even guided visualization
where you learn to put your mind elsewhere by listening to audio tapes or CD's. These methods
are also known as natural healing techniques.


Even know we can not actually touch or to see our chakra's, we can help to work with each one to
make our body the best it can be.


In order for us to have a well balanced chakra line, we have to feed and take care of our bodies
properly. There are certain foods that can help take care of your main chakras.


The base chakra needs food that is rich in protein, spices and root type vegetables. Nuts, vanilla,
cinnamon, sweet fruits and seeds such as caraway and sesame work best in case of the sacral
chakra that of our sexual being and creativity. Our stomach or solar plexus chakra on the other
hand requires breads, cereals, pasta, yogurt, dairy products and spicy mints for nourishment.


Go with green leafy veggies for your heart chakra and plenty of liquids for your throat chakra. You
can go with fruit juices and tangy fruits as well.


The brow or third eye chakra which enhances our sharpness of third eye sight and an in-depth
sense of our own psychical gifts is nourished by consuming grapes, blueberries, grape juice and
wine.


Our focal point of the spiritual awakening is the crown of the head which requires a good
detoxification. This is done by regular inhalation of herbs and incense and rituals such as fasting.


We can take care of our overall health and by using some of that influences above are chakras.
You'll notice that you'll have better health overall. You also see that your body is more in tune with
things that are around you and that would be both in the physical and metaphysical sense.
