POSITION:                T.O.S.A. – Student Management Support
                         Parkrose Middle School
                         0.5 FTE

SALARY:                  $18,744 - $37,096

The job of “Dean of Students” is to assist the Principal in handling problems relating to student
discipline.

Essential Job Functions:

    Handles daily emergencies.

    Handles discipline referrals.

    Supervises on activities in the building.

    Monitors the attendance system.

    Assists administration in maintaining campus and building security.

    Assists in programs to improve student behavior throughout the school/PBIS

    Assists the activities and athletic coordinators in providing supervision

    Assists the security personnel in directing student activities and monitoring behavior.

    Other duties as assigned by school administrator


Other Job Functions:

   Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of
    their work activities.

   Participates in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for
    the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.

Job Requirements – Qualifications:

   Essential Requirements
     Current Teaching or Administrative License
     Master’s degree preferred
     Completed, or currently enrolled in, administrative credential program

   Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:

                Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and
                cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance.
                   Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education
                   code, appropriate instructional subjects.

                   Abilities to stand and walk for prolonged periods, perform a variety of specialized and
                   responsible tasks, maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working
                   relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedule and
                   deadlines. Significant physical abilities include lifting, carrying, reaching, handling,
                   talking, hearing conversations, near and far visual acuity and depth perception and
                   accommodation of field of vision.

                   Regular attendance must be maintained

   Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

        Valid teaching license

        Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance through ODE
