To further develop generic skills of sound draughtsmanship, based on observation. To further expand the student’s perceptual, expressive, cognitive and creative skills. To further introduce computer imaging to complement traditional drawing media. To further develop skills in database and file management and image manipulation. Students will have: Expanded their awareness of a range of drawing media and their expressive and analytical potential. Gained further experience and developed skills of representation based on the observation of objects and the human figure. Expanded their ability to use basic visual language to communicate, analyse, interpret and develop ideas. An improved and practiced understanding of database and file management. An improved and practiced understanding of drawing in the digital environment. A structured programme which teaches: Observational drawing from life models and from objects. Linear perspective, space, form, tone, proportion, structure, weight and movement. File management and remote storage. The manipulation of digital images and relevant computer skills. The module components will be introduced and led by principal tutors supported by additional staff. Students will receive individual and group tutorial guidance. Students will bring their own ambition to all projects and will participate in tutorials and critiques. Students are not required to pursue individual study in time out with the taught course.
