Make up Credit Assignments

LANGUAGE AND SUBJECT MATTER, USING CORRECT ENGLISH GRAMMAR.
THE ASSIGNMENT IS WORTH 15 POINTS.
One assignment per grading period only.
(A maximum of three people can sign up for this on one day)
Come in for a lunch period and choose two of the following tasks to do:
wash, rinse and sanitize all counters
wash, rinse and sanitize all desks
sweep and mop the main kitchen floor
sweep and mop the cafe room floor
Re-organize the utensil and pots/pans/bowls stand and equipment cupboard
Organize laundry, fold and store away.
Clean and sanitize the white refrigerators
Sanitize inside and outside of all ovens and stoves.
***If you do not finish the task, you may come in the following day- however there is no partial
credit for partial work***
Watch a program on the food network; find an article in a food magazine (Bon Appétit,
Gourmet, Saveur, etc.) or in the food section of the newspaper. Write a two page paper
describing the food that was prepared, or the topic of the show or article, what the show or
article was about, the recipe (s), any information about technique or history of the food
items used, who the author or star of the show was.
**The date and title of the program/article must be included.
Look up the history and nutrition information of a food item (apples, tomatoes, potatoes,
cheese, garlic, tofu….). Where did it come from, when did we first start using it, what part
of the world is it from? Write a two page essay on the history and significance of its use
and origin, and how it is used, grown and eaten today.
