POSITION: Construction Services Assistant – Part time (24 hours/week)
REPORTS TO: Construction Manager
This position’s main focus is to serve as a conduit for the Construction Services Department and assist the
Construction manager with general construction and maintenance activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Visit construction sites to ensure adequate supplies are on hand
Perform light maintenance to rental properties as requested by Construction Manager
Lead teams of volunteers on special projects, as directed
Make purchases of construction materials at local home improvement stores under the direction of
the Construction Manager
Organize and maintain construction material containers
Other duties as assigned.
This individual must understand and appreciate the mission of HFH. Qualified candidates should
possess knowledge of general construction and materials, as well as experience with maintenance. Must
demonstrate excellent organizational skills, along with a very strong attention to detail. The ability to
communicate well with others, work in a fast-paced team environment is required. Must be able to deal
with all kinds of individuals and remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor.

Safe and reliable vehicle and valid FL driver’s license
Required to lift a minimum of 80 lbs and will experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive
motion. This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain,
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent
combination of experience, education and training. Personal volunteer experience, preferred. Must
possess working knowledge of construction and general maintenance.
Requires the equivalent of a four-year high school diploma.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license required.
