JOB DESCRIPTION:                 Trainee Maintenance Operative
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Trainee Maintenance Operative will work within our In House Maintenance Team to
deliver a first class service to tenants and customers, they will assist the Maintenance
Foreman deliver the repair service across the Association. The Trainee Maintenance
Operative post has been established to provide an individual with the opportunity to learn the
basic skills and obtain and build experience in this area. The Trainee post is part of the
Housing Services Department.

The post will have an assigned mentor and will be for a period of 6 months. The tasks you
will be involved in are:

TASKS

             Assist with providing a high standard of repairs to tenants
              and other customers. .
             Assist with the provision of landscaping services, including
              drainage, slabbing and fencing repairs.
             Ensure that all common and landscaped areas including
              unadopted roads, shrub beds, bin stores, paved areas
              and streets remain litter free.
             Assist in regular inspections of the common areas.
             Carry out repair/estate inspections.
             Assist other members of the team to manage void process
              including, inspections and general works.
             To advise the maintenance Officer/Admin Assistant of any
              vandalism, empty properties or graffiti for immediate
              rectification.
             Work as part of a flexible team, assisting colleagues as
              and when requested.
             To carry out any other duties/tasks requested by
              Maintenance Foreman and Maintenance Manager ensure
              an efficient and productive repairs service is maintained.
             Comply with the Association Policies and Procedures.
             Adhere to the relevant Health & Safety legislation
              requirements.
             Report any enquiries to the Housing Services Department.
