WPS Learning Report Information
Purpose: The learning report communicates to families what a child knows and is able to
do in relation to the standards set by the school and the State of Maine. The state
standards are called the Maine Learning Results. School district policy states that we
must report student performance on the Maine Learning Results as part of the learning
report process. A parent should be able to understand how their child is performing in
comparison to what is expected of a student at this point in time in the school year.
The district’s Infinite Campus is the system used for the learning report. It has
limitations on how the learning report can be formatted and how it can be used by
The learning report was revised to create a consistent approach to reporting grades
at each grade at WPS and to be compatible with Infinite Campus.
In the future we plan to make the learning report available electronically.
Currently, we do not have the capabilities to do so.
When a child meets or exceeds a standard at the trimester, it does not mean he
has met the standard for the year but they are on course to do so.
The learning report reflects what is essential for students to know and be able to
do at a certain grade by the end of the first trimester, second trimester and the end
of the year. A teacher may comment on a specific knowledge or skill on the
learning report or may comment instead at the parent-teacher conference.
You may ask your child’s teacher for clarification on any of the standards found
on the learning report.
Each grade reports different standards but the format for reporting is the same.
