PURPOSE OF THE POST:

To manage the successful delivery of Force wide projects as allocated by the Organisational
Change Board (OCB)


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

   To manage the end-to-end delivery of national and Force wide business change through
    project delivery within the City of London Police.

   To define, plan, manage and implement (one or more) cross functional/multifunctional
    business projects

   To plan and undertake specific major projects involving a multi-disciplinary team

   To deliver complex projects within the agreed time cost and quality objectives

   To manage and develop staff and other resources (including delegated and devolved
    budgets for the projects).

   To ensure the appropriate levels of technical resources; skills, services and facilities are
    made available to enable timely and cost effective delivery of projects to the Force.

   To develop risk and issue logs to monitor risk status relating to current projects and the effect the
    risk can have upon the business’ ability to perform
      To manage the use of finance and resources

      To prepare high quality documentation including; project briefing documents, project initiation
       documents, highlight reports and end stage project reports.

      To manage benefit delivery and realisation in accordance with the business case.


Essential

Skills
   1. Ability to translate business issues, objectives and challenges into project solutions.

   2. Excellent relationship management skills including stakeholder management (especially managing
      expectations)

   3. Strong communication and presentation skills to be able to present to the senior management
      boards within the Force.

   4. Excellent organisational skills.


Knowledge
   5. Understanding of project management methodology including PRINCE2.


Experience

   6. Significant experience of managing multiple projects within programmes; identifying opportunities for
      collaboration on resource and averting collisions that delay progress through effective management
      of staff and project planning.

   7. Significant experience of staff management, including appropriate delegation of work

   8. Experience of working at senior level.


Desirable
   9. Managing Successful Programmes foundation certificate. ITIL foundation.
