   All riders who qualify must have a Summer Show Jumping CTR membership number. Ensure you
    apply for your Chiltern & Thames Qualifier Number prior to the show and ensure your number is
    registered against your name with the show secretary. Numbers can be acquired via the main
    Chiltern and Thames Rider magazine website.
   A minimum of three teams is required to run a team jumping class.

CLASS 1        CHILTERN & THAMES RIDER MINI INDIVIDUAL SHOW JUMPING

               Height - 60cm (C&TR finals height – 70cm first round.)
               The competition is open to all horse/pony and rider combinations who have not
               won any notional money BS on the date of the show at which they qualified.

               Best THREE scores in first round to count. In the event of equality all members   of
               the team must jump off against the clock - best three scores count.

Class 6          WORKING HUNTER HORSE – Chiltern & Thames Qualifier

                 For horses exceeding 158cm (above 15hh)
                 Fences between 2’6” and 2’9”
                 Open to mares and geldings over 4 years old.
                 Note: Protective boots and bandages maybe worn for the jumping phase but must be
                 removed for the showing phase. No other change of tack or rider is permitted.
                 Martingales may be worn. Body protectors will be allowed during the jumping phase only.
                 A fall of horse or rider will result in elimination on medical grounds. Class to be judged
                 60% jumping and 40% conformation and manners.
                 1st and 2nd place to qualify if class consists of 5 entries and above.
                 Less than 5 entries, 1st place only will qualify.

Class 7          WORKING HUNTER PONY – Chiltern & Thames Qualifier

                 (122cm – 153cm / 12hh – 14.3hh) Open to mares and geldings of 4 years and over
                 Section a) riders not to have reached their 14th birthday on 1st Jan 2012

Class 9          PAIRS JUMPING

                 Fastest clear wins. Any combination. Jumps will be approx 70cm (2’3”). Rosettes

           Horses and ponies of all heights, types and ages. Any suitable bit. Snaffles or
           Pelham’s for double bridle. No gags. Please note lead reins cannot qualify for
           C&TR. 2 to qualify if 6 or more in the class, if less than 6 in class, 1 only to
           qualify.

CLASS 11   RIDDEN VETERAN – Chiltern and Thames Rider Qualifier

           For horses and ponies aged 15 years plus (born in or before 1997). Open to
           stallions**, mares and geldings 4 years and over.
           1 for best 15-20 years old and 1 for best 21+ qualify ** see rules

CLASS 12   LEAD REIN – Chiltern and Thames Rider Qualifier
           This is open for ponies not exceeding 122cm (12hh). Open to mares and
           geldings 4 years and over. Children must not have reached their 9 th birthday on
           1st Jan 2012

CLASS 13   PONY CLUB PONY – Chiltern & Thames Rider Qualifier

           For ponies not exceeding 153cm (above 15hh) that make good all rounder’s for
           Pony Club activities. Open to mares or geldings 4 years and over. Riders not to
           have reached their 25th birthday on 1st Jan 2012. Any suitable bit – see rules.

           judged on their compatibility and way of going as a pair. Will be required to give

RULES FOR CHILTERN EQUINE CLINIC C&TR SHOWJUMPING QUALIFIERS 2012
Championships to be held at Herts County Showground on Sunday 16th September 2012. The Showing and
Show Jumping take place at the same venue on the same day.

Riders must buy their membership numbers from C&T Rider prior to the competition at a cost of £16.34 when
purchased on line by visiting www.chilternrider.co.uk/Membership/showmembers.htm
Their numbers will be issued automatically so there is no need to wait for our office to issue a number.
Alternatively riders can call the office and order their number over the phone by calling 01582 748983 at cost of
£19.40. Riders cannot qualify if they do not have a membership number. CT Rider will confirm the riders who
have qualified by sending them an EMAIL. They can enter on line and save £3.07 per entry.

Please note: Horse/pony combinations cannot enter more than two classes and they must be consecutive. ie
mini and novice, novice and small open, small open and open except for the equestrian.co.uk jump challenge
which can be entered as a third class.

Chiltern & Thames Mini individual Qualifier
Two Phase. Height - 60cm (finals height – 70cm first round.)

Horses and Ponies who have qualified for or competed at HOYS (except SEIB Search for a Star) in the years
2010, 2011or 2012 are not eligible for the C&T Rider Championships.
This Championship is aimed at keen and competitive amateurs and local professionals who are not
competing at top level.

Stallions must be handled and ridden by people who have attained their 14th birthday on 1st January 2012.

Passports must be available for inspection if asked for by a judge or official of the show.

Qualification can pass down the line as far as 4th place.
Judges do not award Q cards or sign cards. Correct reporting of the full results of each class, indicating all CTR Members
passed onto
CT Rider by the show secretaries will suffice. CT Rider will then award the qualifications as per our rules and inform the
competitors.
All riders who want to be eligible to qualify must be CT Rider Members. New memberships for the 2012 season are now on

COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE:
Please do not enter qualifying classes if your horse or pony is not eligible. You will get spotted. In 2006 AND 2007 we had
to disqualify
a horse and pony which is embarrassing and causes a lot of problems.

LEAD REINS ARE ONLY PERMITTED IN THE LEAD REIN CLASSES AND THE BEST TURNED OUT

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

           1.   Entry is open to competitors as specified in the Schedule.
           2.   The judge’s decision will be final
           3.   All objections must be accompanied by a £10 fee which will be returned if the objection is sustained
           4.   Refunds will not be made without a doctor and vet’s certificate. This will incur a £2 administration fee.
           5.   Correct riding attire and hat (please see Hat Rules 2012) must be worn by all Pony Club members at all
                times when mounted and will be checked.
           6.   It is recommended that Body protectors are worn for jumping classes.
           7.   Horses/ponies must be aged 4 years and over.
           8.   Rider’s age as at 01.01.2012, in all classes except where otherwise stated.
           9.   Pony Club members may only wear spurs if they hold their B test or they have the written permission of the
                District Commissioner. Membership card must be shown with for proof of DC’s signature.
           10. The making of any entry constitutes an acceptance of these rules and of the South Herts & West Middx
                Branches of the Pony Club.
           11. Pony Club Committee’s right to decide any matter in their absolute discretion.
           12. No liability will be accepted by the Organisers/Landowner for any loss, damage or accident sustained to
                horses, ponies, riders, spectators or vehicles.       The organisers of this event have taken reasonable
                precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective
                everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the
                instructions of the organisers and all the Officials and Stewards.
           13. Any competitor whose hat comes off his/her head whilst riding in a competition, must on penalty of
                elimination, replaces it before continuing.
           14. Please remember that we are guests and do not muck out your horse box or trailer on the premises.
           15. Dogs must be kept on leads at ALL times.
           16. No horse drawn vehicles allowed on the showground.
           17. Parking is limited please park where you are asked to do so and please be considerate of others.
           18. Late entries will be accepted provided that a class is not already full and provided that there is sufficient
                parking available.
           19. Please only warm up in the designated warm up area and no galloping.
           20. A minimum of 3 teams is required to run Team Jumping classes.
           21. Classes will be cancelled if insufficient entries
           22. All under 14’s to be accompanied by an Adult at all times. Not to be left at showground unattended.
           23. Any suitable bit. Snaffles or Pelham’s for double bridle. No gags.
