AREA MAIL PROCESSING (AMP) FEASIBILITY STUDY
Lincoln, NE P&DF to Omaha, NE P&DC

September 8, 2011

A functional review of the Lincoln NE Area Mail Processing (AMP) proposal is
complete. The proposal recommends transferring mail processing operations from the
Lincoln NE Processing and Distribution Facility (P&DF) for ZIP Codes 683-685 to the
Omaha NE Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC). The proposal, which has a
projected annual savings of $1,388,654 with one-time costs not to exceed $430,500,
has been approved. Implementation of this AMP is expected to be completed by
January 2012.

The Postal Service must continually evaluate the opportunity to improve productivity
and increase efficiency while maintaining excellent service. The transfer of mail
processing operations provides significant savings and allows us to accomplish our
goal of making better use of our resources.
