Parks and
open spaces
There’s more than just a
walk in the park in
Waltham Forest.
As a borough we are fortunate to have
many open spaces, children's play
areas, a cycle race track, tree trails,
ecology areas and a minature railway for
children. Within the borough's parks and
gardens you can watch, or take part in
activities such as cricket, football, tennis,
cycling and skateboarding or one of the
many smaller events put on regularly by
the Council.

Arts and events for all the family
The Summer of 2012 will be the most exciting and memorable time in Waltham Forest.
Our celebrations are well under way and we continue with the final three of our Big 6 events - Urban Classic, Festival of Sport and
Forest Film Fest. We will celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch to our borough with top Hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks and Britain’s
Got Talent dance sensation, Twist and Pulse. We will enjoy live Olympic action presented on the 2012 Live Site and be amazed at the
spectacle of the Godiva Awakes carnival. All this is in addition to our well loved annual Leyton Day, the Chingford Day Dance
Festival, the Mela and Car Free Day.
