Center for Career Development
This fall, the Center for Career Development is piloting the On Campus Recruiting (OCR) Extravaganza.
This event, which takes place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from September 13- November 3, is
meant to assist Work Project I students in securing a retail sales associate internship. The Center for
Career Development has lined up companies from across the industry from mainstream retail to high
end luxury brands. The companies are in fashion, food, and community improvement retail and are
actively hiring retail sales associate.
Work Project I internships must begin no later than November 21st and continue through December 24th.
During this time, students will work 35 hours per week. With permission from a career counselor, Work
Project I students may begin counting a maximum of 15 hours a week as early as October 3, and then
work only 25 hours per week during November 21st –December 24th. These internships can be obtained
in any city or state. Out of town students are encouraged to look for internships back home if they wish
to be with their family for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Please encourage your Work Project I student to take advantage of this resource and come by the
Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. Each week information about
what companies are coming are posted on Axis tv, flyers, through email, and are discussed in all Work
Project I classes.
