Tillman, Orris Golden, 1894-1936. O.G. Tillman was a graduate of Wake
Forest College (Class of 1919) and a missionary to Burma. He also served as
pastor of First Baptist Church, Asheboro, N.C., and Cary (N.C.) Baptist
Church. Mrs. Tillman had been and art instructor at Wake Forest College.

Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) of North Carolina (MS 572)

The Woman's Missionary Union of North Carolina grew out of the Woman's
Central Committee, organized in 1886 to coordinate the efforts of the
Woman's Mission Societies in Southern Baptist churches throughout the

state. The Women's Missionary Union of North Carolina Records consists of
administrative records and personal materials relating to the history of the

North Carolina missionaries supported by the Women's Missionary Union
during their assignments worldwide.

North Carolina Baptist Historical Collection (also known as the Ethel Taylor
Crittenden Collection in Baptist History)

The NC Baptist Historical Collection documents the history of North Carolina
Baptist churches, institutions, and individuals. The collection contains
materials on Southern, Missionary, Primitive, African-American, Union, and
Alliance of Baptist churches. These materials include over 16,000 books,
periodicals, association annuals and other printed materials; church records;
association minutes; and church vertical files. In addition, there are more than
1000 biographical folders containing information on and photographs of
Baptist pastors and Wake Forest alumni.
