: SUPERIOR COURT
IN RE J L :
CM : JUVENILE MATTERS AT HARTFORD
______________________________: JANUARY 21, 2003
MOTION FOR WRITTEN ORDER FOR VISITATION
The children, J L, C M, and M G, by and through undersigned counsel, respectfully
requests this Court issue a written order requiring the Department of Children and Families
(DCF) to arrange visits and phone calls between the children and their mother.
In support of this motion, the undersigned attorney represents the following:
1. On October 25, 2002, the parties appeared before the Superior Court for
Juvenile Matters and the Court ordered that DCF facilitate visits twice a month between the
children and their mother, LL, who is currently incarcerated at the York Correctional
Institution. Also ordered were weekly phone calls between the children and their mother.
2. On January 14, 2003, the parties appeared before the court for plea and
disposition, at which time the court, for a second time, ordered DCF to facilitate visits twice a
month and phone calls once a week, between LL and her children, since such visitation and
phone calls had not occurred.
3. DCF worker Carlos Toro has attempted to arrange a visit for the children for
tomorrow, January 22, 2003, but has been unable to do so. Ruth Bubar, a counselor at York
Correctional Institution, has indicated that she will not process the requests for visits without
a written order from the court. Therefore it is necessary to receive a written order to ensure
visitation between the children and their mother.
4. Because the phone calls between the mother and children have also not
consistently occurred, the children request that his order also be reflected in writing.
5. This Order is in the best interests of the children.
WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the children respectfully request this court
approve their motion.
