                Madisonville Dentist Installed as President-Elect
                     of the Louisiana Dental Association
BATON ROUGE, LA – Madisonville dentist Dr. Charles B Foy, Jr. was installed as president-
elect of the Louisiana Dental Association (LDA) for 2008-2009 during its 128th House of
Delegates, April 12, 2008, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

   Foy received a bachelor of science in zoology from LSU in 1978. He has been practicing
dentistry in Madisonville since 1985, following his 1984 graduation in dental surgery from the
LSU Medical Center in New Orleans.

    He has been a member of the LDA and the American Dental Association for 24 years. Foy
has served on the LDA board of directors, on the Council on Annual Sessions, on the LDA
Insurance Council, and as a delegate to the House of Delegates. In his local component, the
Northlake Dental Association, Foy served as president in 1992 and has been a board member
since 1986. He is also a fellow for the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Dental
Society and the International College of Dentists. Foy was also president of the Louisiana
Academy of General Dentistry. He has a mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and he
recently finished a fellowship in Forensics from the University of Texas.

   Foy is involved in the Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus. He also serves on the
Advisory Council of the LSU School of Dentistry and the LSU College of Arts & Sciences. The
Foy family belongs to St. Peter’s Church in Covington where Dr. Foy is a lector. He also
volunteers at the Samaritan Center and the St. Vincent DePaul Society’s All Saints dental clinic.

    He has been married to Anne Bailey Foy for 13 years and they have three daughters,
Elizabeth, Catherine and Sarah.

        Founded in 1878, the Louisiana Dental Association is a voluntary, non-profit,
professional health organization composed of more than 1,800 practicing, retired and student
dentists in Louisiana. As a constituent of the ADA, the LDA works to protect and to encourage
the improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry, and to
represent the interests of the members of the dental profession and the public it serves. For more
