 Dear

Please allow me to introduce myself! I am Abbey Dall, the mother of 3 children. I was hired in March 2007
nearly a year ago by the Oneida County WIC Program to be a Peer Breastfeeding Counselor when they received a
grant to implement a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program. The Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program, is ane
evidenced based program was designed to assist the WIC professionals of the WIC department, participants with
breastfeeding promotion, education, and counselingsupport during the, both prenatal and during post-partum
periods. I, a current breastfeeding mother of a 15 month old, breastfed my older two children for nearly 2 ½ years
each, and I was sincerely excited to see a this much needed program to added to our county being addedprograms.
I am currently breastfeeding my 15 month old daughter, and breastfed my two sons for nearly 2 ½ years each.

I’m pleased to share that the program has proven to be quite successful within our department. Mothers are
gaining breastfeeding information on a one-on-one basis, and have given plenty of positive feedback, through
successful breastfeeding experiences. It’s quite exciting, as the Peer Counselor, to be able to see successful
breastfeeding occurrences, and witness mothers gain self-confidence within themselves; something that is so very
 important within this new-age.

As a Health Care Provider in our area, I sincerely understand when time-constraints, interrupted appointments,
and minimal opportunities prevail to perform the “Breastfeeding Promotion, Education, & Counseling Services”
that are so very important to successful breastfeeding. I would like to remind youwant you to know that if you
should have a patient whom is eligible to receive WIC benefits, that my services are available at no-cost. From
prenatal education to postpartum assistance, together, we can teach the art of breastfeedingomg, “Nature’s Truly
 Best Start!”

I’m available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for breastfeeding promotion, education, and counseling. Whether it’s
merely a support-person to call, or questions regarding their breastfeeding experience, I’m available. I’ve
enclosed a brochure regarding the WIC Loving Support Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Services, as well as a
brochure regarding the benefits of WIC for your information; feel free to pass-it-on. If you should have any
additional questions, please do not hesitate to drop me an email, phone-call, or note. PleaseAlso, do not hesitate
to let me know if you would like more copies of either brochure.
