A Pastoral Letter
Dear Members, Friends, Constituents, and Visitors of Cornerstone UMC,
Our Vision is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the World. Our Ministry
Plan is the way we go about that task. One piece of that plan is to employee an Associate Pastor. I
am delighted to inform you that this appointment by Bishop Crutchfield is fixed and that Jeanne
Williams will be coming to us as our Associate the first of June. A short biography of Jeanne will
soon be published.
As far as the Youth Director's search is going, we will interview 2 fine candidates this coming
Saturday Evening, and hopefully will be able to make an announcement of that position in the very
Good things truly are happening at Cornerstone. There is a sweet, sweet spirit in this place, and
as one of our ushers said a couple of weeks ago, "I'm excited about inviting people to
Cornerstone." In the last month and a half the Vardell's, the Vaughn's, the Band's, the McMellon's,
the Cole's, and the Alexander's have joined our church. I try to introduce them through our big
screen the Sunday after they join so all services can experience some of the excitement our
church's growth. This coming Sunday our confirmation class will enter into full membership, along
with some other families who have indicated a desire to unite with Cornerstone.
This coming Sunday we will also have in operation our new projector system for the Sanctuary.
The pictures, slides, and power-point presentation will be much clearer and brighter and enhance
our worship experience.
I'm truly excited about what is happening at Cornerstone. I hope you are too. Good things are
happening, and God is blessing us, so invite a guest and continue to help our church grow.
Wm. Christopher Cooper
