CPMS Parent/Teacher Conferences
September 6, 2012
As the end of the nine week grading period quickly approaches on September 28, so does the
opportunity to schedule conferences with your child’s teachers. We encourage and invite all middle
school parents/guardians to discuss their child’s academic and social progress, strengths and
weaknesses, and goals for the rest of the school year. Our annual Parent Teacher Conferences are a
very important and effective tool to support and strengthen our partnership and communication.
CPMS provides a personalized scheduling format prior to your visit. On Monday, Sept. 10 thru
Friday, Sept. 21, we request that all parents schedule up to three, ten-minute conferences with your
child’s core teachers (math, English, science, and/or social studies). In addition, please schedule
conferences with your child’s first semester related arts teachers. Under most circumstances, walk-in
conferences will not be available; however, schedules will be posted outside of each classroom.
Certainly if open times are available while you are conferencing, you may drop-in by writing your
name on the schedule of the teacher that you wish to visit.
Please consider the following prior to requesting your conferences:
Which class is my child most challenged?
Where do I need the most information?
Which teacher(s) haven’t I met?
Please don’t forget to meet with related arts teachers as they can provide valuable insight
outside of the core academic areas.
To create additional meeting time, all CPCSC students will be dismissed 1.5 hours early on Oct.
3, 4, and 5. CPMS will dismiss at 1:15 p.m. on the days noted. Conferences will be held on
Wednesday, Oct. 3 and Thursday, Oct. 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Upon your arrival to CPMS, all parents should first stop by the main office to obtain your child’s nine-
week report card, 21st Century Scholar information (if applicable), map, and schedule if needed. Our
National Junior Honor Society students will be available to help guide your visit. Information
regarding how to schedule conferences is located on the reverse side of this letter. CPMS staff looks
forward to spending quality time with you to help improve your child’s education.

Proud CPMS Principal
How to schedule CPMS conferences:
1. The scheduling window will be open next week beginning
Monday, Sept. 10 – Friday, Sept. 21. Schedule early to help
ensure you secure your requested times.
2. Determine from 1 to 3 core teachers (English, math, social
studies, and science) you would like to meet with during
conferences. Please remember to include unlimited
opportunities to meet with related arts teachers.
3. Plan to schedule a break between each conference to help
allow time to move to the next meeting.
4. Call 535-3883 or email at email@example.com
to request your conference times. Telephone calls may be
answered during school hours, but if not, please leave a
detailed message/email stating your child’s name and
requesting the day, time, teachers, and preferred return
contact information. An email link is located on our middle
school homepage for your convenience at
5. If you leave a voicemail or send an email, you will receive
follow-up communication confirming your requested time
or noting an alternative time slot. First time emails to
Clark-Pleasant Schools may require that you respond to an
email from “icebox” to verify your contact information.
Just follow the steps on the screen to confirm your message.
6. Please call the main office at 535-7121 if you have any
questions or need additional assistance; however, do not
leave a message at our school number to schedule a
