INSURANCE REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS
PROPERTY INSURANCE
The following form should be completed if you are receiving coverage of your
property through the insurance of the General Board of Global Ministries. If you
are still a part of this program, you are strongly encouraged to seek local coverage.
However, keep in mind that the policy renewal date with the GBGM is November
1 and if you are to change policies, yours would need to be in place by that date
or wait until next year. Changing mid-insurance-year would result in double
coverage/billing.
If your property is insured through the GBGM or if you have a loan through
them with the United Methodist Development Fund, your policy must list them
as having an interest in the property. A copy showing this should be sent to
Insurance/Property/Legal Admin., 475 Riverside Drive, New York NY 10115. Please
indicate on the AUMC copy that this has been done.
If you have purchased coverage locally, you are still requested to review that coverage
and include a copy of the cover sheet that outlines basic coverages and effective
dates with the charge conference reports.
Previous experience has proved that this is important business. Please take the
review seriously and remember that it is wise to have replacement cost coverage.
You cannot rebuild your building for the value of the current structure.
FOR THE UNION CHURCHES: please complete your property insurance review and
submit it to the conference office no later than December 1, 2012.

Note: It is important that any program not directly sponsored and administered by the Conference,
or a Conference church, be fully insured by the sponsor naming the Conference or local church as
coinsured on their policy. It is further necessary to have a written sub-lease with groups who use
space on a regular basis. On property owned and insured by the General Board of Global
Ministries, the sub-leases must be approved by the GBGM_
