I wanted to take a moment to remind you that if you or any members of your agency plan
on attending the 2011 LECC Conference at Spring Creek Ranch (SCR) in Jackson this
June, you will need to make your hotel reservation no later than March 15th to receive
the government rate of $113 for a single room. Suites with multiple bedrooms are
available for members of your agency if you don’t mind sharing a bathroom, however the
charge will still be $113 per person for these rooms. Because SCR is not as large a
venue as the Snow King was, rooms probably will not be available at the last minute if
you wait to make reservations. The lodging information is attached.
We are working on the final touches to the Agenda and hope to send it out within a
couple of weeks. We are working to insure that the Agenda is relevant to both local, state
and federal agencies and not as “federal heavy” as it has been in the past.
We will not be hosting an awards banquet this year, but will have an ice breaker at SCR
the first evening and a BBQ at the Mead Ranch on Wednesday night. We will also be
eliminating the Thursday morning block of training so that we can keep the costs of
lodging down. The registration fee is $65 this year with a $5 charge for guests over 15
who attend the BBQ.
As I am sure you are aware, the federal budget is in a state of extreme flux. It is because
of the willingness of DCI to assist with a large portion of the conference funding that we
are able to hold the conference this year. The Federals SAC’s Association, the Wyoming
Association of Sheriffs and Chief’s and the Wyoming Peace Officers Association also
make a sizeable sponsorship contribution to the Conference. It is because of these
donations that we are able to keep the registration fee at a reasonable level.
We are also exploring the possibility of adding on-line registration and the ability to pay
via credit card through a PayPal account for this year’s conference. More on that to
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
