Whether you’re an aspiring model, designer or just a plain fashionista, your favorite is
something that’s always blog worthy. This is why a lot of fashion forward people love the
iPhone. The heady combination of fashion and photography can be blended well through the
iPhone’s hip look and 8 megapixel iSight camera and the Internet began teeming with fashion
blogs and photoblogs. If you also dream of becoming a fashion photoblogger, you don’t have
to sell your iPhone just to accomplish this. Just try LOOKBOOK.nu’s newly released app!
Collective Passion for Fashion
LOOKBOOK.nu is a community website for all the fashion forward people of the world which
also features fashion photoblogging. In a nutshell, it allows users to upload photos of their
‘looks’ and describe each item they’re wearing. Lookbook fashionistas or ‘Lookbookers’ also
give short descriptions and titles of their looks which they can share through Facebook, Tumblr
and Twitter. It’s essentially a Digg.com for street fashion!

As compared to other fashion photoblogging sites like The Sartorialist and The Cobrasnake,
LOOKBOOK.nu is actually a relatively new site. It was put up by Yuri Lee in 2008 to help
fashionistas all over the world get together online by letting everyone share their “what-I-
wore-today” experiences.

The Pros: A Long Awaited iPhone App
Now, Lookbookers do not have to sell used iPhone just to get their daily dose of fashion hype.
LOOKBOOK.nu has finally released their official iPhone app in the Apple App Store and is
actually free for download! For an app that has long been requested by a lot of LOOKBOOK
users, we have a lot of good things to say! First off, the UI is smooth and simple, almost the
same as the website’s stylistic look (which we all came to love). Also, the fashion photos look
immaculate on a smartphone with a really cool Retina Display! One Lookbooker even said:
“The photos look better on the app than on the site!”

Long time Lookbookers would also appreciate that the app functions just as well as the
website. You can hype your favorite looks, fan other inspiring, fashion forward people, give a
heart to looks that deserve much love and praise, and comment on your favorite
Lookbookers’ looks! Oh and the best part? You can now directly upload your iPhone fashion
blog-worthy photos to your LOOKBOOK account! Just like the website, you can also tag your
clothing items, pick out color palettes and say something about your recently blogged look!
Imagine taking a picture of yourself and letting your friends see what you’re wearing the same
day!

The Cons: A Couple More Tweaks and Updates
On the other hand, the app is definitely still in the early stages (it’s currently on version 1.0.0
and was launched only August 17) so it still has a lot of room for improvement. A part of our
wish list is a little variety in available languages since there are lots of Lookbookers from
different countries. Another big wish (that we know most Lookbookers would love) is photo
editing features! We sure would love that! Another con is that the app is only available for iOS
5.0 or later so you probably would have to sell iPhone 3GS if you want this app.
