What is the “Students Care: Join the Revolution” leadership initiative?

Two focus areas of the WASC Board for the 2010/11 school year are to promote the value of
service projects and to improve school safety. Based on the data collected from the Safe
Schools Survey, the WASC Board will be coordinating service and school climate projects
throughout the state. All of these projects will be under the banner of the statewide
initiative: "Students Care: Join the Revolution." The goal of the “Students Care: Join the
Revolution” project is to unite student leaders across the state around an attitude of service
and school safety. The WASC Board believes that a value held by resolute and dependable
student leaders is one of service to your school, community and nation.

To energize the initiative, the WASC Board is holding a "Students Care: Join the Revolution"
logo contest.

How do I enter the Students Care logo contest?

The WASC Board is looking for a logo to represent the Students Care: Join the Revolution”
initiative. The greatest asset our state has is the creative minds of its students. To tap into this
asset, the WASC Board is asking students to submit a design of an original logo, which will be
used statewide to represent the “Students Care: Join the Revolution” initiative.

Guidelines:
       Include
           o The initiative’s title “Students Care”
           o The acronym “WASC”
           o The initiative’s tagline “Join the Revolution”
       Format
           o A Jpeg Image
           o Viewable on a 8 1/2” x 11” piece of paper
