Description of Business Environment:
Lockheed Martin UK Global Training and Logistics (GTL) is a leading provider of training
and logistics support for military customers. GTL offers a full range of logistics, mission
operations support, readiness, engineering support and integration services. For
customers, this means a fully integrated focus on life cycle support requirements and an
organisation that can respond more rapidly to their evolving needs.This role will be part of
our Enterprise Logistics Solutions business where Lockheed Martin has worked with its
customer to create the Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions (JAMES)
system to help fleet managers understand the fitness rate, location and configuration of
their equipment.

The JAMES programme takes advantage of non-bespoke software, to eliminate
incompatible data standards and reduce expenses normally associated with modifying and
maintaining COTS software products.Regular travel between Warminster, where our
customer is based, and our main office in Farnborough can be expected, as will occasional
travel to our production site at Bridgend and reference site at Havant.

Required Skills:
    Good knowledge of software engineering, including:
      o Lifecycle models
      o Design methods
      o Operating systems
      o Programming languages
      o Configuration Management

    Experience on projects using Java and Object-Oriented Design/Object-Oriented
    Experience with HTML, XML, UML, JavaScript, JSPs, J2EE, use case
     development, web application development, Oracle, SQL, ClearCase/ClearQuest,
     Eclipse, JBoss and JavaScript
    Able to determine whether a particular problem is caused by hardware, operating
     system, software application or network failures.
    Excellent Communication skills.

Desired Skills:
    Experience of any of the following:
    Quick Test Pro or other automated test tool
    Common Development Framework (or other framework such as STRUTS)
    Service Oriented Architecture
    Agile Methodology experience
    Working as part of a distributed team
    Previous experience on MOD related Programmes with appropriate Security
    Experience of working in a production / Managed Service environment

Standard Job Description:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops,
documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to
business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of
data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures,
and tools throughout the development life cycle.

Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed
in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information
gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares
operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes
system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data
acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or
equivalent experience / combined education. Entry level.
